it uses 8 speed conventional automatic..not CVT like Honda, Toyota, Nissan except Mazda...fuckkk CVT

It's all about the driver man ..... It's how well he handled the vehicle .... take care Mr Khong.

I never knew a brick on wheels could carry such speeds around twisty roads. It just shows how far car makers have come. Great driving as usual. Drive safe, stay safe uncle!

I also notice, very much less body roll compared to Alphard

I just so admire Uncle Khong who is just not only knows how to drive but also understand the car very well. Knows the ability of the car is also important in driving because some people just thinking of stepping the gas without analysing what are the consequences from their attitude of driving and either the car could afford it or not. Finally....been waiting for this video. But I am guessing the camera mounting does not help us the viewer to the true feeling of the whole ride. It seems to shake a lot. But anyway I can assume this giant behave really well up the mountain from the way you react.

I agree, I drove an FWD MPV before and it has a tendency to understeer on these corners. Just gotta drive 'calmer' on these hills.

Will take into consideration; but being able to drive it at that pace means it is a good package, doesn't it? Steering feel has no meaning of the car cannot take the corners or feels like a steamroller.

sampai skrg saya masih lagi pakai kia karnival kx 2019. so far ok . engine pun power. tapi kalau bab sparepart tu mmg mahal cokkkkk... so fikir2kanlah. byk lagi la aku benda yg aku nak cakap tapi sampai di sini saja hahahahaha...

The Real Showcase of driving skills uncle! I've driven a few MPV before, even the Alphard and Vellfire of my family members. One thing for sure, they are not a vehicle for Genting climb.. feels like sitting on the egg shells and a chilling sweat down all over me🤣.

Nice uncle, gear 8speed AT just guna 3rd gear only,. amazing, kalau CVT sure meraung engine 😁. Like my Kia Rio 6speed with AMT naik Cameron always used 3rd gear jarang guna 2nd gear or 1st gear walaupun engine Rio 1.4L 100Hp 133Nm tapi smooth sahaja sebab mungkin gear guna 6speed. Lalu bonggol pun stay 3rd gear different dengan model Picanto 4speed lalu bonggol always turun 1st gear. 😅

Actually useful when passing front car.

I drove the older gen up with 5 adults, 4 kids and light luggage... Driving is a breeze... Effortless

After watching the previous video where uncle YS Khong drove this new Carnival, was waiting for this Genting Hill Climb... and here it is as promised! *thumbs up*. I'm in love with this Carnival, even more after watching each review about this MPV (or GUV), definitely a very respectable alternative to Alphard, Velfire, Odyssey, Elgrand, etc. Since this is a huge vehicle, I am actually interested to know uncle YS Khong's thoughts and opinion on its braking capabilities, especially during down hill. Can have additional video clip or comments on your down hill ride experience please uncle YS Khong?

You can talk to me and ask me more. 0163350609. Braking is not an issue, and there is plenty of braking power. Of course you are not supposed to drive crazy going down hill. On one part of our clinb, we went down a steep slope quite fast, and the brakes never failed.

Hi Mr khong, normally i use hill descent control when going down deep slope like genting road, understand from the sales representative for 11 seater model, no such descent control, just wonder whether need to brake a lot to drive deep slope or easy to drive down hill. Thkz in advance for advice

Hi Mr Khong, the car is almost perfect. I guess if have a video can show how carnival parking in various big mall such as mid valley, one u or Sunday pyramid would be interesting.

For big vehicles, parking is a challenge sometimes, especially in places where the lots are small, and the car in the next lots are slightly out if centre.

I was a user of Kia carnival first gen....emm...a User at back seat😄 as a kid. I really like how the space and the middle seat can turn to face backward. This is amazing. Try Last gen on a trip in Australia fitting 7pax easily. Power enough to cruise below speed limit. Looking forward this 👌

Hopefully 7 seater option would be available. Hardly need the last row. Better to just get rid of it to save space and fuel

Hill Descent Control is only for very steep slopes and will deactivate at speeds above 20 or so kmh. These slopes are around 5 to 10 percent generally and so you do not need HDC. Our steepest climbs are Genting, Camerons and perhaps Kinabalu in EM, and you will not require HDC in any of these situations, so don't worry about the vehicle not having HDC. The chances are you will never need it at all

Because there was nothing to mention. Temperature was normal. This is a diesel turbo, 440 Nm of torque, no problem climbing this hill.

Very good. Had the vehicle for 5 days, still on half tank, and we went up Genting 3 times.

The Alphard is good for 4 seatscat the back, and is well appointed. This is with 9 seats at the back, and 6 with luggage. Different usage. This is a bigger vehicle.

The 4 stroke engine was made 100 years ago, but still using in new cars. Same with electric cars - they were around 100 years ago too. There is mothing new, just variations and packages that make a vehicle suitable for some users. There is no single car that suits everybody, which is why the auto undustry is so vibrant and interesting.
