My wife's work still doesn't have power. The map shows everyone around her area, including her building, has power, but her building doesn't have power. Luckily a part of her building does have a generator, but their shipping department doesn't. Ridiculous!!

Happy you didn't mention Lineman or the Tree trimmers. FPL spends well over a billion every year and been upgrading/hardening for over 10 yrs.. Worked with Centerpoint lineman after every hurricane here in S Fla. Excellent lineman. Gotta get these guys some help.

TX was a decent place about 30 years ago but it way to crowded and the state governmemt is horrible. The traffic was horrible even in the 70's. Everyone thinks it is cheap to live there because they have no state income tax. Well not anymore.Well they get you in other ways and when you do need help they are not going to be there for you. Basically how well federal program run can depend on the state. The federal government does the guideline and provide the funds, but the detail come down to the state. For example the American healthcare act can very greatly depend on the state you live in. Same with unemployment benefits. Also in my state all the kids now get free lunch because they found it was cheaper then paying for a accounting contractor to keep track of parent paying or not. Also anyone who gradurates from a MN HS and resident for one year can get go to a state college, trade or community college and have tution and fees paid for if there household make less then $80k. While we have income tax in my state, the property taxes are much less then in TX so they equal out. Basically the south is not a deal anymore and just like always they just do not run the state very well either. You use to put up with the state bad services in the past because it was so cheap. Well you still get bad services and they charge you more then up north. Meanwhile I guess in Great Britian the conservative with there British First campaign and them cutting major social program by 40% has turned the place into a 3rd world country. They did not save the money. But there who economy is in the tubes because they did not care. Why does that not not surprise me. State that do the best have one party leading but also have a strong minority to help keep the worse down. Well the worse state in this country have no had that. Imstead they have been run by the same party for 50 years. But our politician love to distract use with personal issues so the rich can just rob us all blind. If we are fighting over who can marry who or whether we have prayers in school is just a way to distract us so we do not center on how little they are doing and basically not doing there jobs. Why are we talking about prayer in school when all our dam are getting old and need to be replaced ect. But you vote for Trump and you can kiss this country and everything that is nice good bye. That city park. No more. Your city will be like we do not have money for that but we got to keep the police so lets sell it for something no one wants. The economy is like this today because we get 80% of our good overseas and our biggest trade partner China is in a huge depression with 80% of there factories closed. In fact so many companies did not want to leave China becaise they thought that would be there downfall because we were so depentant on them. Well no more. Under the chip act the most advance Chips can be totally made in the USA. We may not have cheap manpower but we need to ensure we hold on to what matters. In fact Russia is so in need of high quality chip they are taking them out of gaming computer like xbox.

Both sides are at fault the out of state help lineman were trying to overcharge and center pointless would not budge despite it making billions every year in profit they should have swallowed their price and paid whatever price they claimed but the line man are greedy i wouldt doubt they take their time fixing something if they get paid by the hour and have a nice hotel to stay at with AC shoot i would i mean pay me $70-$100 an hour to move stuff around and go back to my nice hotel

the storm changed course, it wasn’t even going to Houston until a few days before it changed course, the infrastructure in Houston is horrible, with old outdated infrastructure, and new infrastructure built creating more problems, this is only going to get worse the more that is built, and the old is not updated, but they will continue building on a area that is flat as a pancake, near the gulf, with increased storms and flood risks

  • @JAM661

Hurricanes always change course. You may not know the exact area but you can usually get a good range and be within 50 to 100 miles from the hardest hit area. But they were showing 100's of trucks in parking lots with worker just sitting for most of the day. Some crews never left the parking lot and that was a few days ago. So they are not even managing where people are suppose to go. You would think with all the hurricane we have had in the past 20 years or so they would get this. The bottom line they were hoping it woukd land somewhere else and did not want to risk the cost. Well instead of the company risking losing some money, people are now losing there lives. I feel sorry for anyone who is on dialysis or on oxgen 24 hours a day (sorry a tank will only last a day) But unless you make these companies responsible by giving them huge fines ( and the customer get the money) they will keep thinking only about saving money instead of providing the services as expected. Why should they preplain and long as the state does nothing and keep let it happen. You require them to pay a huge fine for everyday people have no electric and I bet you do not see 50 truck with crew sitting in parking lats for 10 hours doing nothing. But this reminds me of that shit company that Trump cabinet member choose because he was friend and he had like 10 employess and he was suppose to fix the entire island of PR. Even today PR is still suffer from Maria. But these companies will never step up unless we demand our politian do better. The fact they go running off when the crap flies just shows how unfit politician like Abbott and Cruz really are. I do not care about Abbott going to Japan and how long it was planned. He should have stayed since it was a natural disaster and sent he 2nd guy in his place to Japan. Leader have to do it all the time when emergency happen. I mean you are screaming America first while you go running away to japan and Cruz goes running to fo watch whales. Nope the last good governor Tx had was Ann Richards.

@@biffteutsch3402All I know I am soooooooo glad I left TX and FL. At one time dealing with the south crap was worth because it use to be fairly cheap. Not anymore and you get nothing for your taxes. My state just found oit that it was costing more to collect the school lunch fees and deal with all those issues then just giving the kids lunch for free. The state has also provided that if you are resident for a years, gradurates from MN HS and your family income is less then $80k they will pay for tution and fees to our state public college, community college or trade program.
