Not that simple, to me he is the most enraptured of Chaos Gods whose sphere represents the raw adrenaline and euphoria of battle and the all encompassing rage that takes hold of you during battle. You may think it's fantastical but all humans and especially men have a part of them that would relish in bloodshed and carnage and it's simply a part of the human psyche and indeed our very souls that shall never leave us no matter how civilized and technologically advanced we become. You'd be surprised just how quickly humans can devolve and revert back to their more animalistic nature..

The Bretonian Knight embracing Khorne is a cool story. Why I've always been team Chaos.

Holy hell that story was awesome. Reminds me of the einherjar from Norse mythology. I wish more stories about khorne where more like this. Yes, khorne is a god of blood and slaughter, but he is also about bravery and honor. A khornate warrior will never cheat in a battle, will never trick or deceive, but will simply fight a good fight.

@@baldermort As much as it's your voice that keeps us all coming back, it's your "voice", the subtle nuances of word choice, delivery, and pacing that reward careful listeners like myself enough that I often find new things I missed on the first viewing. One of my favorites is "Bastille" for "bastion" when the fortification ends up both protection and prison.

"Beware that when you battle monsters, you yourself do not become a monster. For when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes into you also". With some beautiful Baldermort flavor! Well done sir.

I'm not sure that anyone would find the story jarring. As I was listening to the first part I was working on the assumption that this was a feudal/medieval world and it made an interesting change since usually W40K stories are set in a futuristic setting and so it's easy to forget that most of the Imperium's worlds have devolved. So once again I say thank you! ❤️

Thank you for giving Our Martial Lord his due. So many try to denigrate him as a mad butcher but the faithful know that He is the one true God of warriors and honor.... truly a God worthy of praise.

Yup, Baldermort has a way of leaning into the idea of what makes a faction cool. He doesn't dismiss a faction but instead finds and showcases the things that people enjoy about that faction.

I hope that this entry is to be the first of a series to follow.With the quality I've come to love and appreciate from Lord Baldmorte . Isn't it an interesting parallel to Odin Himself the honored dead gathered to his busom fighting all day feasting all night down to the fact Odin can't be trusted either once His purpose is served He's good . Khorne the Blood God could be consider to be the strongest of the Chaos Gods, and perhaps the most simplest to worship of his dark siblings. Khorne is arguably the most powerful being in the Warp and no doubt that if he were to win the Great Game the Galaxy will be covered in Gore and Blood, and there will a Skull Throne worthy enough for him to sit upon the Material Universe, but he often the target of his siblings envy and jealousy that other three often make use of alliances and pacts to fight their bloody brother.

**The knight forgot the reason why we fight.**To be selfless in the defence of what you hold dear. He fourght to simply display himself and his honour, To not flee and leave others hanging in the midst of battle, To give your enemy respect and a chance at life so that life may choose in the end whos disserving and finally to carve his own name with his own skill into the world. He was a worrior, never a protector, caring not for why the blood flows, only that it does for the sake of displaying his own ideals as one.

But your channel has shown me the gritty beauty of Warhammer and I'm deeply interested in it enough to potentially want to play one day. Blood for the blood god! Skulls for the skull throne! And butter for the popped Khorne, because Baldermort just dropped another hour long lore video!

In my version Skarbrand does not fall from grace but is rewarded with a collar by his master. In this way he becomes in effect untouchable. Perturabo challenges him, kills him, offers his evil skull to Khorne and is rewarded by becoming a Demon Prince, along with all the power previously owned by Skarbrand.

hourish plus vids for where you're at in terms of vids coming up on but passed on a subscriber's homepage -vs- being clicked on instead rather than algorithmically shelved against you later by interpreting as a passing over alleged disinterest is probably a good move. Go ham on the cool stuff- the biggies and big themes- for the viewer, enthusiasm, passion, and zeal far surpasses encyclopedic knowledge, You da man dawg-

Probably my favorite narrative so far. I've gotta say, I can't help but feel like chaos is the 'hero' faction of the setting. I mean the followers if their respective deities seem positively fullfilled whether they're withering away or pulsing with power. Everyone else, maybe except the orks, are kind of miserable. Even the emperor's servants who are emotionally 99.9% taken over by awe and duty are just... amongst settings that contradict what human nature declares as unpleasant. Those of chaos seem to physically and psychologically change to accommodate the horror. It's like how poop and rot is gross to people but flies search it out..?

@@baldermort who ever said that was wrong in my opinion, I loved it. The universe of warhammer 40k has trillions of beings and millions of worlds. Describing these worlds vibrant in 10000 years of history since the Horus heresy and eons before that is part of the fun of warhammer 40k. To just say “it happens on an agricultural world somewhere” when setting up your battles and conflicts is a wasted opportunity

Baldermort god sir I must ask that you stop reading my mind it is getting a bit freaky how often you release video on topics and characters that I have spent the day debating whether to buy or not, however the blood god demands a warband and by his blood soaked name he may just get it. Great video I love your videos on the True Gods and their many faces.

Even though the video went on for almost an hour, it felt like minutes. Bloody good work Baldermort ... no pun intended .... for what you have done for today.

A general thought on when Khorn lost power was because of the humans. Even at the greatest heights of the Eldar they still spilt blood as to reach the height of pleasure and pain. But humans went to war with automatons, and the one time in which war and extermination was purely without any emotion but sheer mechanical purity. No honor, no pleasure, no resistance, just death.

Also Warhammer Fantasy story what a treat, you spoil us.

Just what i needed to end the week, a video by the best loremaster while painting world eaters terminators. You did it again brother, stunning story. Blood for the Bloodgod, skulls for the skullthrone!!

I already hear the weather broadcast in Khorns realm. "Today’s weather is simmering rage with a chance of apocalyptic fury in the evening."

I consider 40k and fantasy interconnected. I’d bet GW is going to start linking them more, wouldn’t be surprised if you start seeing more fantasy daemons in 40k.

When you think about it, the demons are basically the same between the two apart from named characters and one or two units

Occasionally he is, the Chaos Gods' power levels aren't fixed, they wax and wane like the seasons, depending entirely on circumstance.

What's interesting about this video is in my early halcyon days into peering into this wild and crazy universe (universes) of Warhammer Khorne was the Chaos God who captured my imagination. And my gateway into that World That Was? Why, the entirely free race that was Bretonnia as part of Creative Assembly's fantastic Total War: Warhammer. So this video was a double hit right in my nostalgia centers. Bravo sir, thank you for all you do.
