Khao Lak has to be one of Asia’s best 5 star resort locations.
A 20 km long strip of costal resorts in Phang Nga along the Andaman Sea. Located in Southern Thailand about 100 km north of Phuket island. With miles of beautiful tranquil sandy beaches, calm inviting green sea, it is one of the best places to relax or swim in the sunshine partly due to the massive resorts that feel more like little holiday villages offering quiet and undisturbed serenity.
If you want to lay by the pool and sip a few cocktails all day long or go kayaking or any other family activity, Khao Lak has everything to offer.
Khao Lak is also known for being Thailand’s hardest hit location during the 2004 Christmas Day Tsunami. The Thai’s have moved on and rebuilt, yet not forgotten the destruction and pain.
Grand Mercure Khao Lak is Khao Lak’s most recent opened 5 star resort, at the time of making this video. Having opened in October 2021 after building which started around 2019 had been interrupted due to the global C situation.
The resort consists of 195 rooms of different configurations. All have either patio or balcony opening towards the pools/ponds. Made up of smaller groups of buildings, to give you a more holiday home feel rather than being in a massive hotel.
The rooms and resort offer all the facilities and amenities you would expect from a 5 star resort and of course friendly and helpful staff.
At the time of publishing Grand Mercure Khao Lak has a rating of 4.7 stars from 193 reviews on Google.

superb video! do you think this place is nice for 2 weeks? we just booked it, we dont mind away from centre. we only got superior room but it looks nice in the video. did you feel much difference between the superior and the deluxe, did you prefer the deluxe swamp. or pool. also, do you know if you can access the pools on pool view rooms? is that pool open to all or can you only get to it with those rooms

Thank you. I'm sure you will enjoy it. You'll have plenty of time so you might do some day trips exploring places. I suggest visit the Khao Lak night market. Everyone can access the pool. The deluxe is just a little bigger from memory. Enjoy your stay!

Ich hab mal eine bitte an alle KZreadr die Hotels bewerten. Es wird wirklich jede Zimmerecke gefilmt, was ich auch toll finde, aber FAST niemand testet den Härtegrad des Betts, was in Thailand durchaus eine grosse Rolle bei der Auswahl des Hotels. Ich hab sa schon Betonharte Erlebnisse gehabt. Und auch die Info ob das Hotel, bzw Wege zum Zimmer usw für Rollstuhlfahrer geeignet sind. Wäre toll wenn diese Infos auch enthalten wären..NUR EIN TIPP Gruss Kuki I have a request for all KZreadrs who rate hotels. Every corner of the room is filmed, which I think is great, but ALMOST no one tests the hardness of the bed, which in Thailand plays a big role in choosing a hotel. I've already had experiences that were hard as concrete. And also the information about whether the hotel or the path to the room etc. is suitable for wheelchair users. It would be great if this information were also included... JUST A TIP
Mmmmm I wonder about the huge amount of mosquitoes with all the ponds !!!!

It's a good idea to be weary of mosquitoes in most of Thailand. However didn't notice a larger than usual amount at the resort. I personally didnt observe it at the Grand Mercure Khao Lak, but i have seen it at several resorts where they spray pesticides weekly to reduce mosquitoes and other insects.

Did you visit? Fit out had recently been completed. Yes possibly a refit of a previous resort abandoned during the c situation. When I visited, it was still very quiet. However it was a very pleasant stay.
Your audio was terrible! Invest in a better mic.

I'm using a DJI Mic which I bought after spending considerable time reading & watching reviews. Might be something on how I connected it to the GoPro. Maybe by using the Media Mod for the hot shoe its overriding something.

@@kermitTheFrog466 I enjoyed every minute! Every staff member we encountered was warm and welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious, displays were stunning, pool right outside my room? yes please! It was perfect!!
