I'm studying medicine and I recently finished my clinical rotation at a small rural hospital in the US. I don't want to specify the location, but you will not believe the amount of elderly people that are in that hospital due to failure to thrive. I saw elderly people that have been in there apartments for months and ended up having something called necrotizing fasciitis where skin was just falling off their body because they were sitting on their feces for that long and no one took care of them. It's quite sad. May Allah make us those who benefit their parents and not a among those who neglect their parents.

I was just curious if you could guide me on this topic or have any references to provide as my parents are not Muslim. I am doing my best to obey them still, although now I am moved out and they do not really give me much direction at the moment. Since reverting I have made an effort to reconnect with my Father as we had a less than ideal relationship in the past, and I am trying to strengthen my already strong bond with my mother although it is a bit difficult at times as most of the things they do I can no longer participate (Lots of mixed gatherings with their friends.) I guess my question is, as they are not Muslim where do I draw the line between obeying them? Meaning if they ask something of me that is Haram must I obey them or refuse their demand? As far as i know, he promised it to his mother. Because she probably was scared to lose her son too, after losing her husband. Making promise to his father doesnt make sense, because it was the dream of his father that kabib would be a fighter and champion. So maybe one day his mother would allow him to fight or maybe if she dies, then khabib has no reason to not fight. (may Allah protect his family, ameen)

A practising Muslim is not the same as a knowledgeable Muslim(not saying I'm a genius). Isn't boxing itself haram because he's punching the face? As a Muslim you shouldn't be earning haram money not to mention he made promises to his parents which also can't be broken. He can still help out in many different ways, no need to fall for temptations of this world. Please don't go give out wrong advice just because you're a "practicing Muslim".
