I don’t think it completely changed him if changed him at all. The Kevin Lee fight after that, sure, but that’s probably more of him just fighting another high level grappler with striking, but everything else was basically consistency issues that he’s always had. Still though, this was probably the first fight that I actually looked away from when seeing and hearing all that GnP Khabib was landing.

@@jacksonmendoza6481 Of course its striking, its ground and pound, but dont pretend like striking while in mount/guard is the same as striking on the feet. Take prime Mike Tyson, put him on his back, and put Brock Lesnar on top in mount with strikes only. Even though Mike obviously got the superior striking, no one is a great striker while on their back. We wouldnt say that Brock Lesnar is a better striker than Mike, just because he hits him more, and gets more significant strikes while laying on top of him. Khabib won this fight due to his wrestling, not his striking.

Oh boy I'm happy that I'm old enough to appreciate Khabibs work, I didn't follow him prior to entering UFC but man, IMO he definitely had the most successful run. The man defines domination. I mean sure, we've seen him a little bruised in after-fight interviews, but going 29-0 without bleeding or getting spaghetti-rocked in a full contact sport is truly astonishing.

He dominated 155 filled with strikers, and too scared to move up to his normal weight of 170, he killed himself to weight cut down to 155, not really a goat when you just beat strikers, and like 24 of those are trash anyway compared to top 5 in ufc

Khabib always pressured his opponents,the opponents can't get much power in their punches if they're not at the right distance from the target so the fact that he was just walking straight on his opponents and not letting them the distance to think to feint or to hit and run plus his chin made of diamonds were for me the biggest keys of his game

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Go watch a UFC KO compilation and watch how many of those guys are walking forward. It’s literally something they teach you not to do at the amateur level. It’s just Khabib has never been knocked out and if he gets stunned, he will shoot for the legs knowing very well how dominant his ground game is. Same reason why Oliveira just falls on his back when he is stun. Just watch this fight again, and count how many times Khabib gets countered coming in but remains unfazed.

@@Zzzeusage ur both right tbh Khabib, was evidently a very dominant and aggressive fighter and did walk his opponents down knowing that if he gets stunned or wobbled (even tho he had an iron chin 🦅)he can take em to the ground. Plus khabib did not have very good reach so him getting close to his opponents whilst having good guard is the way he closed the distance so that he could land his combos or shots and possibly get a clinch.

Barboza was never the same after this fight. Sad, cause he was so damn good and had tons of potential.

His fighting style was like a Bear. Smothering his opponents with heavy grappling and sucking the life out of them by his pace. Relentless, unforgiving and brutal. Yet still, he never boasted or flaunted his success and remained humble. He is pure class. Unbeaten and Undefeated. Legend!

I'm impressed that Barboza could carry all this heavy-metal drumming to the very end. Everybody looked weak after the fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. It looks like for Khabib there wasn't a strong enough opponent in his weight category. That huge edge he's had by being brought up and trained as a true warrior. I'm sure he could beat the guys around the top even 2 weight categories up. They were lucky they didn't have him there 😂
