one of the reasons is the declining of quality that doesn't match with the current price. also due to the current economy situation, people are more selective on what they want to eat while maintaining their budget to sustain until the next paycheck. Then, kfc need to aware that they are many competitors nowadays that offer better fried chickens with better quality and prices.

I started to avoid eating all of the fastfood chains in Malaysia since I noticed McD's price spiked very early, even before Covid if I remember correctly. The last meal I tried in McD is the Nasi Lemak McD with the Spicy Chicken. It's okay, but not worth the price if eaten too often. Just support local business is fine.

I don't think its because of the boycott. Kfc is just using this issue as an excuse to close. The only 2 brand i often heard being boycotted is Starbucks and Mcd. I think people are buying less because of the high price and more competition. In my area there are chicking, jollibee and richeese open one after another.

In kamunting also they close one outlet, kamunting also Muslim majority area.. But all outlets in taiping still open.. Taiping is Chinese majority area

Thier downfall is mainly due to thier product quality. They can’t even maintain thier main dish which is the fried chicken. Not to mention the sizes getting smaller while price going up. Might as well just close all branch. Management and staff been pretty unprofessional for decades.

We did not boycott KFC due to the Israel issue. We reject KFC because the quality declined too badly. They fried chicken sizes is half of other brands fried chicken sizes and it also taste very dry. Another factor is the economy factor, nowadays it's been a tough journey for majority of Malaysian as the cost of living has increased too much, thus most of Malaysian prefer local cheaper option for foods.

It is suggested that the company rebrand to better reflect its current offerings. A name such as Kentucky Fried Bird may be more appropriate and reflective of the company's products.

Even if there were no boycotts, nobody wants to pay the price of a whole chicken for 2 pieces of chicken.

i live near to 2 KFC branch,for decades every night people line up to buy until 11.30 night...but last 5 months....kfc from the morning till the evening, only 1-2 chinese goes to buy at a time, plus night time closes at 9.00pm.

The boycott in Malaysia happened for a long time way before the Palestinian war with israel. Its becahse of KFC scamming and deceiving customers. Especially rhe increase in price and the portions of chicken are extremely small, its like eating a thin layer of meat with giant bones. It took me 4 bites only to finish a chicken breast. The services there are terrible too. KFC being boycott by all races in Malaysia as everyone shared similar experiences. While McDonald's suffered only the Muslim side of Boycott, they serve decent portions of food and having quite a lot of offers. I still go McDonald's to eat occasionally, its nice when many customers are gone and the offers kept flowing in. Normally there are many who pretended to boycott but secretly eats McDonald's.

KFC is expensive these days. That alone should have affected its sales.

Many of my friends who currently live there have also agreed that the quality at KFC has been decreasing at a terrible level, with prices also hiking up in such a way that other fast-food chains that also serve fried chicken has taken over in terms of competition. From my experiences of having ate at KFC there a few years ago, the size of the chicken i've gotten served was also much smaller than what i've gotten from McDonalds and also another chain called Texas Chicken. With those reasons, plus the obvious boycotting happening, i'm honestly not surprised that this happened

no longer goto kfc after they switched to machine ordering, i almost always get chicken breast, cant choose, and source machine always not working.

Why stop at US fast food chains? US apparel, sports ware, IT hardware and software, Apple products, social media, movie and music, credit cards. This should bring down the US indexes.

in indonesia, as my pov there's no kfc, mcd, starbucks that expected supporting israel has been temporary closed, all of that Fast Food Chains owned by Indonesian Corp. that have licensed to sell that, and for this case in my country, all of that fastfood chains that operate in indonesia, all of them giving some donation and say it clearly that they againts the middle east conflict.

Thank you Malaysia, i hope Indonesia also followed suit, closing KFC outlets and Israeli-affiliated companies, which were more numerous

suddenly all talking about unhealthy fast food and expensive as an excuse ..but before all this nicely eating KFC and drinking designer coffee step mat salleh with whole ching gang family... wolpis.

Boycott aside, KFC is competing in tougher f&b industry in the country. In less than a decade, I've seen so many new fast food/intnl food chains across the country. The quality of the food and overall service have been deteriorating over the last decade...dont know why I should go there again

Hope that next will be 🍔🍟🥤McDonald's follow by Burger King, 🍕Pizza Hut, 🍔 Burger King, 🥪☕️Starbucks, 🥖Subway, 🍩 Dunkin' Donuts and so on. All these fastfood are unhealthy junk food which contains high sugars, saturated or trans fats, salt, many different type of processed preservatives and ingredients and it also lacks of some beneficial nutrients which are a wide spread of diabetes, obesity and chronic disease in human body. It's best to eat home cooked meals.

KFC in Malaysia used to be delicious, but now is so pricey, the food quality and portion are getting low and small

It's not about boycott but it's about quality of nutrition,taste and price.Better support local products.More about asian choices.

Kfc chicken is salty. Texas chicken, mcd fried chicken and Jollibee is so juicy and tasty

I like your comment, I am an old man no work no income whether boycott or not closed or not I am still the same not because I boycott the reality is that I don't have the money but if my friends around wish to give me a treat in KFC I shall not refuse.

They are paying for the arrogance of MacDonald, specially MacDonald Israel branch. Giving free lunch to IDF and then promoting it on X and instagram, what did they expected ? And the response from MacDonald Main at the time was lackluster, saying only it is on the freedom of each branch.

Used to go Malaysia across the borders for the juicy and fresh chicken but quality has dropped. Service too, it took ages get one’s order.

The quality is lacking as well, havent been buying KFC that often even before the boycott. The chickens were sometimes overcooked, dry and most of the time too small to even compensate the price i’m paying. Not worth at all…indirectly, much healthier lifestyle has taken over too.

Everyone may cheer but the jobs lost for normal folks and college students is just terrible
