    @RedRedWine, Honestly, I don't care what the cleaning lady's motives were for coming forward. I only care that she did. She's the hero in this case, regardless of her reasons. And I think heroes should be rewarded, at least to a certain extent, for their heroic deeds. Besides, we grant full citizenship to tons of other people in this country on a regular basis. Many of them are not quite so worthy of their reward. I think this lady is.

    "Social workers visited but never caught on.." now what in God's name does THAT mean? They are paid to look in, to check on children at risk. It's their job!! If I were fostering children I would open my home, allow DCS total and complete access to my house, the kids, and whatever else they needed to see. Because the best interests and wellbeing of THE KIDS are what matters. Who hires these buffoons? Cynthia's courage and resilience of spirit are heartwarming and I applaud her. But were the social workers reprimanded, or even called to account? I am proud of Cynthia's survival, but the fact that she suffered for so long, without anyone 'catching on' makes me sick to my stomach. Investigators come to assess: the slick, conniving foster mother sweet talked them, lied and hid the kids? And these clueless social workers shrugged and walked away...

  • @atlguera564

    @atlguera564

    6 жыл бұрын

    No, because the problem is people try to use social work as opportunities for other jobs and very rarely do social workers keep that position for a long time before they get very tired of it and move on for whatever reason. Very rarely will you see a social worker stay for longer than 6 months the Children Services and Social workers are lacking. They have a very low turnout of people that stay in these positions so they are never able to be held accountable and they truly don't care about their job they're trying to use it as a stepping stone to get somewhere else in their career. It's kind of sick to think about it but it's the truth

    Cynthia these evil people know what they're doing and they dress the kids up and threaten them so they act normal while the worker is there....it's very sad but it happens all the time. Some kids play the role so well out of fear or in some cases the kids are treated really well the few days before the visit so they naturally act like everything is ok because at that time it is ok :( I hate people that do these kinds of things especially to kids I mean what was it done for and the fact she barely got in trouble is sickening.

    If you think this is a rare occurrence, think again. The foster care system harbors thousands of abusers. My cousin was locked inside a room every day and deprived of food by her foster parents. When she told her case worker they ignored it (multiple times) until she ran away. They thought she was a troubled child and was put into a reform school. Her whole life is set back 10 years because of her foster parents.

    So this women was forced to lived in a cage for years and torterd as a kid and the foster mother only got 1year in a cage for this crime ? Wow she should have gotten 15/20 years. People who abuse animals get more time than this, that judge should lose his job because he is not doing it right and no telling how many others he let get off for doing horrible crimes like this? Disgusting! !

    Cynthia- You ROCK girl! What you survived is unthinkable to a great majority of people. But, to those kids who come in to your office, I know they don't or won't trust 99.9% of adults. But, when you say, "I know what you've gone through. I've been there too.", I know in my heart that they'll see you not as just another adult telling them things they've heard before, counted on & were disappointed. They'll see your eyes & body language(kids are very good at reading that, I'm sure you already know!), & they'll not find just an adult to speak with. They'll see & FEEL a kindred spirit. My Dad was a cop for 30 years. I could tell you stories for hours upon hours about kids that felt that same type of connection & would speak to him when they wouldn't speak to others. They shared a common bond. An that's something you can't learn in school or from a book. You may not see the wings on your shoulders when you look in the mirror. Just trust me that your wings are already there! I wish you luck, strength, love & any every blessing in life that's possible.

    macky macky My Dad once had a case of a little 8 y/o girl who had been kidnapped at knife point & taken out to the country where she raped in a small cemetery. My Dad was a big guy. 6'2", barrel chest, just what you'd imagine a cop would look like from central casting. The rapist had dropped her off about 4 blocks from her home, after dark. Every cop & many more of the public had been out looking for her for hours when she walked into her home & told her parents what had happened. Of course, everyone was upset, mad, crying, screaming, you get it. Then Dad walked into the house, there were all sorts of people, family & other cops there. It was a FULL house! But, before Dad said anything to anyone, that little girl saw him, broke out of her Mom's embrace & walked directly up to him She grabbed onto his big hand(he wore a size 14 ring. BIG hand!) & said, "will you go catch that bad guy for me?" She didn't know who he was but, I know she could "feel" that he was the one who would help her. He told her that if she was brave enough to remember as much as she could & would tell him, he'd do everything he possibly could to get him. She told him everything that happened & at the end of her story, he asked her, "do you think you would remember where you went?" She jumped off her chair,, grabbed his hand again & said, "I know I can if you drive!". With that, she went to her Mom & said, "we'll be back in awhile. I'm gonna show him where I was today". I was a young teen then & was amazed at that girl's courage(I'm still amazed in fact, even though it's been over 40 years).. But, like I said, she felt a kindred spirit in my Dad & even after all she had gone thru that day, she felt absolutely safe with him. Kids can read adults better than most profilers. So can animals. Btw- Yes, Dad got "the bad guy" for her. He was living with a woman who had a 10 y/o daughter When the arrest went down, he was in the shower. Dad cuffed him right then & there, wet & naked. He demanded that he be allowed to get dressed. They wrapped a blanket around him & took him to jail like that. He got life. When people ask me why I'm so proud to be a cop's kid, that's one of the stories I tell them.

    Some people never understand the pain they inflict on innocent victims. It is so hard to forget such treatment, but trying not to think about it is the best advice. Trying to help children in the same place is a true feat of emotional strength. People like your Foster torcher will never understand how you felt or admitted the wrong they did to you, so screw them. They lost any rites to you. My life took a turn like this and I wasn't in your place but l would stay away from those pathetic excuses of humanity. Blessings be to you, and your emotional strength!!!❤💜💞
