Do you have to have the one in the back of the center console connected in order to utilize keyless entry and keyless start of the car?

Nicely done video, but you missed one interior antenna... it's under the third brake light. And there's one more, for the trunk acces, it's under the rear bumper. Cheers!

E91 wagon has 3 interior antennas that are identical - the last one is under the cargo area liner next to the satellite and telematics control unit. There is a fourth antenna under the bumper.

I have same problem, I changed the actuator and after that, my comfort access wont work again.

My keyless entry works. Butmy keyless start does not anymore. I replaced new battery to the FOB and still no good. it will only start if i out the fob on the slot. Is antenna issue? or FB? TY

I have the exact same issue with my 2013 128i. I also can't unlock or lock my doors and open the trunk unless I am right up on the car pressing the buttons with it aimed directly at the rear of the car. I can't be more than 2 feet from my car or my fobs won't work.

Do both antennas need to work for remote lock/unlock to work? How do you know and antenna is faulty? How do you know which one is faulty?

No the one that is behind the center console on my car is disconnected it doesn't even have the wire that I took the back of the center console off my old car which it did have a wire to connect to that sensor but the keyless entry still works with just the one in the dashboard

My 09 e91. Key remote battery died and after replacing it the CA stop working... Dealer said key was fine and i only have one ... I can start the car by putting key in the ignition, i cant lock the car with my metal key , it wont turn to lock but will turn to unlock.... What do you think problem is ? The antenna ?

Did you fix this? I did a routine change of my CR2032 battery and when I went to start the car it almost seemed like a fuse tripped and everything on the car stopped. Started the car again and I'm sure I remember the dash showing a key fob battery sign? A day later I realised CA was completely lost. The car will only unlock and lock with pressing the key fob buttons and the key fob has to be inserted. Haven't done any digging yet but was just curious how you got on?

MrSweetE90 i found out it was the module under the spoiler that was causing issues, athough i sold it before confirming that. I belive they call it the diversity module.

@@snowydaysalways5937 - hmm that's odd because if the diversity antenna had fried I would have expected the key fob not to function either (unlock and lock buttons) because as this video shows the CA antennas are on the centre console and the CA module is in the boot so I'm not joining the dots with how it could be the diversity antenna. None the less, thanks for your quick reply and I'll give it a check anyway :)

@@snowydaysalways5937 - Oddly enough, the new battery I put in must have been faulty/low from the packet. Despite the unlock/lock buttons working now and again on the fob, the Comfort Access must need a much stronger voltage to work. I went a little OTT and purchased the Energizer Ultimate Lithium CR2032 for £6 and CA is so much better. Like before with the Panasonic batteries opening the boot sometimes took 2 or 3 presses before CA located the key and unlocked the boot but with this battery the car unlocks so quick.

Can you install this antenna to a non- keyless e90??
