This custom prebuilt has hot-swappable switches but features Gateron Browns underneath some impressive Osa PBT keycaps. With 240 hours of battery life, a volume knob, and 3 mode connectivity including Bluetooth 5.1, I may have found my new daily driver for editing and productivity work although you can absolutely game with this 4 lb behemoth.

setting up the new keyboard and was replacing the left alt button with the prebuilt Apple key, whole thing popped out and now my left alt doesn't work. any tips?
The little foam piece may be for dampening the sound of the space bar, although some tape could also do the trick!
You're insane, linear switches are the best. I have been loving the Q1 Max with red switches. All jokes aside great review. 👍

Hey, the GameSir G7 SE had the overclock update, I’m pretty sure it’s good now.
I collect gaming mechanical keyboards but mostly from the mainstream brands like Razer, Corsair and Asus. As a custom keyboard noob, can I ask if there is a huge difference between Keychron (or Wooting etc) in comparison to 3 giants? (yes they have different switches, analog variable actuation and tactile/linear options all the same). I was looking at the Wooting 60HE and the Keychron Q5 Max reviewed here and am curious in dipping my toes into such custom keyboards. I do mainly gaming but do enjoy typing if the switches have that tactile and clicky/thocky feel and sound to it. The closest I have to a custom keyboard is the Asus Scope II 96 and I love it.
It's kinda difficult to get the real typing sound thru a mic. Your q5 max is sounds different from my mine.
I've got my eye on the gulikit kk3 max but I won't buy it until I see your review of it. 🙃 Nice video tho, love the sound of these switches

only thing holding me back is the back buttons not being steam input compatible. they're only customizable via button prompts which means I won't be able to have settings for individual games

returned mine, had a defective trigger that caused joystick jittering also they are just terrible triggers

I have the Q5 and the Q5 Pro, both with the force break mod. For me, the barebones make no sense. Even if you swap them out immediately, you can't beat switches and caps for $19, especially when the switches are Gateron Red or Yellow.
Now that's a keyboard! I don't get how people use a 60% on a daily basis. I mean you can take it out, do some typing and you're set. But for daily use, productivity - this is the way! Love my Q5, can't wait to get a Q5 Max and mod it! I haven't tried tactile switches yet, but I love the Gateron Pro Red's that I have. They're clacky.. and I kinda feel just a little of a bump. Maybe that's because I haven't tried browns yet. Definitely gonna order the Q5 Max with tactiles. I love Keychron keyboards, they're awesome, and the Max series looks better than ever.
