I love your videos, and your passion for the Florida Keys! My family and I were just there this year ourselves, all the way down to Key West. It was a great trip, but I had not been in the keys since 1993, and was surprised at the changes (Key West is more upscale now and crowded) and saddened by all the damage still there from Irma. Thank you for your videos!

John Banas I would have loved to have been there long ago before it became so crowded and built up... I can only imagine how cool it must have been there back in the 1950s and 60s.... I would hear stories from the older people. It must have been a really magical place back then. But I would have been happy to have been there in1993 and I have never been there yet . Let's face it most places are great when they are still more or less a best kept secret. I guess I was kind of naive when I was reading something about the Home Depot there and was surprised that they had one of THOSE in Key West ... definitely not what I pictured .

Thank you for bringing back so many lovely memories of my RV trips with my late husband John! We had a Silverado truck with 5th-wheel and Coachman RV. I've loved everyone of your videos in regards to the Florida Keys. I have spent a great amount of time in the Florida Keys from Key Largo to Key West and even gone to the Dry Tortugas. And things have really changed nothing stays the same. Bahia Honda State Park holds a beautiful beach.

One of the reasons is because he doesn't put his face in every camera shot like a lot of other KZreadrs do ... he actually gives us enough breathing room to see everything we want to look at so we can feel that we are actually there. Some of the other KZreadrs I feel smother us with their constant presence and all you see is their big face and head in every shot... and some of them will turn around and do a 360 so you can see everything around them but they are in the center of the shot... literally with the world revolving around them.! . too much narcissism on KZread ... that's why I'm so grateful for people like Robert ... I just discovered this channel this afternoon.

Thanks for sharing your videos. Found you by accident tonight and night went on and on watching your videos. Before we call it a night, wanted to let you know about our favorite campgrounds, so far. Big Pine Fishing Lodge and Boyd's at Key West (really Stock Island). Boyd's is as close as you can get to Key West unless you are in the Navy or a vet and get into their campground. Stayed at Boyd's are last two times and Big Pine a few years ago, but it is always full when we go. Big Pine has great people and the Key Deer are an added touch. So far it has only been in a tent as our stays have been too short to bring the 5th wheel down.... but hopefully this winter for our first full winter... IF we can get into a campground... with so many closing to become Condos the rates keep climbing and they seem to get picky on the year of your camper. Our HitchHiker is still in great shape, better than most new ones, but too old.

Top Notch video! The new drone will add some excellent content to your channel..it already has ;-) Key West is a special place and well captured by your videos and comments. As mentioned before went there in a Toy Hauler in Feb 2017, stayed at the military campground on Trumbo Point. Will definitely make a return trip in the future.

Robert , I love following your road travels! I would recommend a stop on Stock Island for a bite to eat at , Hogfish Bar and Grill! They have a delicious hogfish sandwich that is blackened or fried. You would appreciate the old harbor as well! Also you pass by Gilbert's Resort in Key Largo , It's the first and largest tiki bar in the Keys! You need to try the cerviche there, it's divine ! Keep you trekking my friend and congratulations on the advertisers, It's good stuff!

Robert at 33:12 to 33:13 you drive by Cowboy Bills, I believe it is the only true Country Bar in KW, also home to a great mexican restaurant (can not think of it's name) and the bull riding machine in the back. Bill the owner takes care of his customers and some how remembers you when you come back in. He helped me out this past winter when I was limited to what I could eat and drink after just having major oral surgery. Everybody else got mad when I did not buy drinks for my self, only wanted water, he did not. Not the 1st time he helped us out. You know he is there when his truck, the white Ford with the US Flag paint on the front is out front. Noticed it as you drove by it, lol.

We always stay at Grassy Key RV Resort which is just south of Jolly Rogers! It's only like 30 some odd spots but it's very nice!

Also, I think kayaking to Indian Key is the best way. We put in on the opposite side of the road from where you were. Not a bad trip at all!

Low season in Florida is the summer. This video was shot in mid May, which might as well be summer in these parts. Low season I would say is between April and November.

Hi turistas, Sunset Key islland is officially called Tank Island on nautical charts. It had two large oil tanks for refueling Navy ships until they gave it to the city for a park. Which did not happen. The cottage business is owned by Mike Walsh's Opal company, whose ship dock gets much profit from giant cruise ships of 3,000 passengers. The locals do NOT like massive ships docking in KW which flood Duval Street with day trippers who patronize tee shirt shops, jewelry stores, expensive cosmetic ripoff scams and there are so many of them they block traffic and do not obey the Do Not Walk traffic signals. Key Westers voted to limit the size of cruise ships but Mr Walsh paid a million dollars into Florida Governor DeSantis political fund to get him to approve a law that would overturn the citizens right to vote to control bad things happening to their cities!! Although he owns four hotels in KW and a cruise ship dock, he is bad neighbor and hurts the place that is earning his income. He punishes the lifestyles of the locals for his own profit motives. Do us a favor and stay somewhere else and teach him that his bad behavior will cost him some money ;=] Maybe then he will listen to us when we say "Get some smaller cruise ships and help the reef survive." P.s. It is not worth $700 a night, free sunsets and good chow is available anywhere else in KW ;=}
