OMG you just saved me I don't even know how much! I was literally just crying thinking I was going to have to get it towed to a repair shop, and pay only God knows what to have it fixed. I like this video and that is saying alot. I don't understand the thumbs down. My original Honda Civic 2001 and Honda Accord 2002 keys were 10 years old and worn and I was having a heck of a time getting the engine-key to click forward to start the cars. I had to jiggle the keys several times before they would click forward and work. So instead of spending $150 dollars for 1 new key, I paid $3.50 to have a duplicate made without the chip and took the original key and broke off the key end and taped the chip to my duplicate key (kind of like in this video) and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the tip buddy!👍

I already knew this but I never thought about making a video about it, great idea!

Everyone should stand up and demand the right to have no immobilizer on their new car if they choose. Now instead of your car getting hot wired and stolen they break in and shoot you and take the key. Also they significantly increase the likelihood of your car being taken straight to the scrap yard. Wish i could buy a new car without one. These immobilizers are being forced on us and it's not cool at all.

@W.S. Soap Company yeah, but they neither own the vehicle before or after purchase so it shouldn't matter what they want. If they want they can charge extra for full coverage if you don't have it or something. Also they have devices that steal proximity key signals from inside of houses and recreate the key. They can hop right in and drive many new cars off like it's their own yet they're still producing them with proximity ignition keys from what I can tell. Why have an immobilizer that can be bypassed by thieves?

Agreed they cause way more of a fcking problem than the problem they are trying to solve. 99% people need to do maintenance on their car and the immobilizer is a massive pain in the ass for certain things

@jeff george know a guy that fixes cars to resell all the time. He purchased another engine for his car and the dealer couldn't even get it to program in. They couldn't identify the cause either. They still charged for the programming as well.

My 2002 Acura RSX has an immobilizer chip inside the key and I love it.

But if your original key brakes and you only have a spare with not chip and the broken original key you can still start it.

I hope you still check this blog for posters..... I have a 2002 Civic LX . Crank but no start, the green immobilizer key is not lighting up at all when you turn the ign. key to on... It used to light up before........ I had a new fuel pump put on 1 year ago unless that went bad already?? I was filling the tank to the top of the filler neck... was told that is a no no.... maybe that messed up the charcoal vent box???? I checked the timing belt it is ok.... I sprayed starter fluid into the throttle body.... engine just spins wont fire...............any ideas???? FI fuses are ok.............

if the light doesn't flash or turn on - that's not the problem with pump or gasoline or belt or anything else! the only problem is with light and electric part! that's immobolizer trouble!

mine is doing the same thing yours is with the spare key but it's the chip key does that mean my sensor in my main key went out?

i have a 2005 acura rsx type s and it has that green flashing light and it turns on and drives fine. and its a key that has the chip

my car worked perfect, til one day it rained and the water was up to the door and the floor had a half inch of water in it. Now I get that green blinking light, no start. Galant 2000

My Nissan Cranks but don’t start so we’ve been trying to start it every day last week today someone came to my house and check my car in the code p1610 came up I actually have my main key and 2 spare keys and they all look the same so I don’t know what to do now I disconnected my battery And plan to use one of my spare keys in the morning Any suggestions

Did you ever get it fixed. I'm working on a 95 del sol and it hasn't been started for 3 years because suspected fuel pump failure but I replaced everything with the fuel system and the vehicle is showing symptoms of anti theft system.

My 2000 acura tl the light come on after sitting a while then sometimes it want come on at all

Well guys!! i use to have the same problem with my car!! Some times dont start, sometimes i need to wait 10 minuts!! sometimes 5 minuts or more!!! and i was ready to send to repair it ! actually where iam to solve this problems the price started at 200 euros!! but accidentaly when i was going to the mecanic the battery of my car die !! so i change the battery ! and from this day i didnt have any issue with the inmobilazer!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT! CHECK IT OUT! GENERALLY THE PROBLEM IS AND OLD OR FAILED BATTERY (im talking about the battery from the engine of course) ...WELCOME!!!!! ;)

You need a guy that can replace the Immobilizer emulator inside the computer otherwise you have to buy a new computer and have the keys to go with it

One of the screws that hold the shifter in place came out. It’s kinda common on these old Hondas.

Nice video BUT take all the junk off the key ring or 1. It would be easer to follow and 2. down the road your going to regret it because your key tumblers are going to ware out to the point of not being able to turn the switch on.

this morning i try to turn on my car and it just turn the lights on and it has the same keys you got in your hands so what can i do

What if I don't have a spare key, the sign keeps coming on but the care works fine.

Hungry 420 it's either the key that you're using doesn't have a chip or the immobilizer system is messing up.

Hungry 420 oh no! I've never experienced or heard of that problem. If I were you, I would go to my local dealership and tell them what's been happening or look up the problem online.
