Do you hold the LOCK button while counting to 10? Or do you let it go for the 10 seconds and then press LOCK again for the 2nd set of 3 pushes.

I thought I was getting a good deal from a locksmith for $170 for a new fob and programming for my 2012 Nissan Altima key fob when mine stopped working, and refused to work still after replacing the fob battery. Little did I know I would get a BETTER deal (free) thanks to this video. Worked like a charm. You just saved me time and money, the two things of which I never seem to have enough. Thank you for posting this video!

You just saved me from buying a new FOB. Thanks a lot. For the people who wasn't sucessful: you have to press car's START button while holding LOCK button on the FOB. I understood it only after unsucessfull attempt by pressing LOCK button 3 times.

im lost right now i got a g37 and the key doesn’t do anything i’ve tried doing this trick and it doesn’t work only way to start the car is by putting it in the slot pretty sure it’s because it’s an aftermarket key but it was once working perfectly fine

Awesomeeeeeeee!!!! I had two remote keys for 2014 Infiniti QX60, one remote stopped working a couple of months back and now the second one also. No buttons on the key fob will work. But I can lock unlock the car going near it using the door handle buttons, and car starts fine with the remote key fob. Proximity sensor works on both remote. Fixed the remote today using this method and now the buttons work on the key fob!!!! Thank you soo soooo sooo much for this great video :) This is really fantastic. Can't thank you enough!!

this just saved me too, I have a 2019 Q50, one fob worked, the other didn't, swapped batteries, still nothing, was going to give up then saw your video!

Note to Others: I too thought it was low batteries on my fob but after replacing the batteries the buttons on the fob still did not work. Had tried this fix a couple of times; didn't worked, so give up, locked the doors and walked away. When came back to use my car, the location sensor (which worked previously) did not work. So had to use the key to manually open the door (however push to start still worked). Feeling like I now took a step BACKWARDS...tried this fix again a few times to resynch the fob and it finally worked. Had to also try a number of times on my second fob before it also worked...

Just another thing to look out for if this didn't help. I tried everything including this and nothing was working. Turned out that I had pressed down on the pins next to the battery thinking it was the release and forgot about it. It wasn't making contact so It wasn't working. All I had to do was bend them back up. Make sure the right components are making contact with the battery.

This worked on my 2015 q50!! Thank you! Mine didn’t have the blue ring light up around the ignition so it took me a few tries. You really have to wait a full 10 seconds…I noticed that after 10 seconds while holding the remote, the doors locked and then after the the second 3 taps it worked again!! Took me 4-5 tries. Had to slow down. Thank you!!!!

You would think that the car manufacturers would have this procedure documented in their ownership manual. I have a 2019 Nissan Navara and I've tried everything to get my key fob working again after replacing the battery. Nothing works, not even this procedure. Thanks for posting even though it doesn't work for me.

Worked 2014 q50 thanks! Replaced batteries both fobs. I am positive I tested both fobs. Let spare fob sit for couple weeks. That one would not work to open or close locks or alarm. Used different new batteries without success. Tried this and worked.

Wanted to take the time to Thank you for this video. While I have done other resync methods, finding this video actually helped me troubleshoot a whole other issue. I came by this video while trying to address yellow intellikey icon on dash. Ended up disconnecting battery for 15 minutes to reset ECU but tried this after reconnecting. Helped resync both key fobs and for WHATEVER reason I tried my door handle button (which hasnt worked in over 2 years)... and it started working again 😮😮😮 Awesome man, thank you again

Yeah it's not computing in my head what you're doing apparently... my 2008 EX35.. I push the start stop button and it lightsup I don't have an ignition key slot so. I'll keep looking. Thank you none the less, I see you've helped a lot of people. 🙏🏼

You are Dynamite!!! Our 2 remotes stopped working after we changed the batteries, two years ago. We have been through two winters with no remote start because the remotes were not working. We have watched multiple videos from other channels with no success. I have a JX35 and have the exact same issues with my key fob, so aggravating. Put in two new batteries and it still doesn't work. Gonna try this method because I refuse to pay 500 dollars for a new fob

Thanks for the video. This happened when I replaced the coin battery to my 2017 Murano key fob. But I did not have to press the Start Button. All I did was hold the key fob next to the start button and press the LOCK button on my key fob 3 times. After that, the key FOB start working and I can Lock and Unlock using the key fob.

This video described my 2019 Nissan Leaf issue perfectly; however, the procedure doesn't work. My wife's key fob has had the low battery indicator alert for a couple weeks. I replaced the battery and fob doesn't work. I had a low battery indicator with my fob a few months ago and change my battery sooner. I think when the battery gets REALLY low, you are prone to these issues possibly. It would help everybody if the procedure for the Q50 would be documented. I believe it is this: 1. press and hold down lock button while pushing start button 3 times 2. release both buttons and wait 10 seconds (video shows 2 seconds?) 3. press lock button and push start button 3 times The Nissan Leaf must have a similar but different procedure- haven't figured it out yet: 0. lock doors via door switch 1. press and hold down lock button while pushing start button 4 times (3rd push starts car; 4th will unlock doors) 2. release both buttons and wait 10 seconds? 3. lock doors again 4. press and hold down lock button while pushing start button 4 times issue still exists and key is still not detected if I simply push Start button. I tried pressing brake peddle and not as well. If anybody knows the correct procedure, please reply and share what you know. I fiddled with this for 2 hours and have given up. Might be a dealer trip.

UPDATE: I replaced CR2025 battery with a CR2032 instead. Key fob functions better, but lock and key detection features don' t work still. I can at least unlock the car now and open the charging port. I tried the programming procedure again with same results as before. I'm wondering if I somehow deprogrammed the 'Lock' button now using that procedure?

UPDATE #2 - FIXED! Did not do any programming. I cracked open fob again and adjusted the metal connectors that hold battery in fob by bending them towards the center of the battery well. I think the issue was a bad connection with battery. Key fob now works perfectly.
