The whole story starting 44:45 was something I noticed with the current KZread. Like when I was growing up with KZread practically everyone loved each other. The KZread rewind was like an end-of-the-year reunion. After the viners went on KZread suddenly everyone hated each other, cliques are starting drama with other cliques and all that. When I was growing up, KZread was a community, now it's just a platform.

It wasn’t the viners that caused it. It was the rise of drama/edgy youtube channels that instigate and talk shit about other creators. Drama channel alway existed, but it was on a really small scale and no one really cared, but now youtube is all about controversy to get clicks.

Yeah I feel that, even though it started way before the viners. There was only a handful (a bit more but you get it) of KZreadrs, and even when you didn’t watch them you knew them. I always feel happy and sad when I think back to those years, so nostalgic.

I think the big change was when KZread made it so you had to have 10 minute videos to get a lot of revenue. This affected a lot of channels and killed a lot of creativity in my opinion.

@@iXCrasherXi Kev got into an accident way back. He was heavily injured, and was in extreme pain. When he was recovering, the lack of a purpose and the pain gave him dark thoughts. His dad however encourage and care for him the entire time, providing him with all the love and support that most couldn't. Now Kev is back on his feet with new purpose and new life.

Ryan, I’m not even subscribed to you but I had to click this for Kevin. That said, what a nice surprise seeing this on my recommended. I’m impressed and surprised at how different Kevin carries himself now in front of the camera. This more “turned off” state is really genuine. His blunt vulnerability here was refreshing too. I hope to see him make his comeback whenever he feels is ready. He always had good shit to say, and was an all around cool personality to look up to. One of my favourite youtubers growing up. Thanks for gracing the internet with your presence Kevin. Also I hope you know you are so so so appreciated. Did anyone else see how Ryan and Kevin perked up when they started talking about old times? 😍

You can tell Kev went through a hell lot and has grown so much from it. It still affects him now through the way he speaks, tone of voice and attitude when things come up. Despite that, I'm happy that he is doing well. Yes we all want him back, but sometimes things just take time. From how they talked about the parties before, it's obvious KZread has changed so much and it might not be the platform he wants to be in. He has so much to share when he is ready and I cannot wait until that time comes

Being another Houstonian myself, back in the day, Kevin was the center of the online Asian American community in Houston. Even now, Houston still isn't very represented online and Kevin being as big as he was and from Houston drew a lot of people to KZread. I remember being like "Wow, I know where that place in the video is" and "Here's someone like me who can do this whole KZread thing". If it wasn't for people like Ryan and specifically Kevin, I wouldn't have explored video making and I wouldn't be going to film school now. Early Asian American exposure on KZread has completely changed our generation especially as KZread grew and grew and grew.

Two of the big celebrities from the Gold Age of KZread. I'm shook.

Man feels like Kevin is still in bit of dark space, but with a light at the end of the tunnel right now. To hear him say he wanted to give up at times really made me sad but it looks like he's back on the up and up. If and when he comes back I'll def be subbed to whatever he's doing. Sayed Hasan he got into a car accident and he said no one but his dad was there for him during the long recovery. You can see him in some of his first interviews after returning to the public eye a bit that it deeply affected him. Honestly i dont think he will ever be the same he didnt just go through a car accident he went through a transformation maybe even an identity crisis. He seems like hes still trying to find his path. Last time I checked he was barely active on social media and was into buddism or some other east asian philosophy or faith. He lost a lot of weight and almost looked emaciated i dont know if this was before or after the crash.

I was never really into media trend, even when KZread started, but I do remember watching Ryan and Kevin when I was younger. This is nostalgic and I think a lot of fans around my age miss Kevin and we’re happy to hear from him.. but we aren’t noticing his pain. Paco kind of underplayed Kevin’s accident, but I think it took everything out of Kevin to stand back up and find himself. The pain that he is carrying, I will never understand, and unless he’s really comfortable sharing, will never pry to know about. I’m just so happy for him, his smile, and everything he’s accomplished despite the accident.

I remember Kevjumba when he was on The Amazing Race

I remembered I ran into kevjumba in Houston at the mall. He kinda was looking at me and I knew he looked familiar. I recognized him because he was wearing a kevjumba shirt and we started talking, he’s a pretty cool guy

I’m upset this hasn’t gotten enough attention :/ I’ve only JUST found this. it was funny watching Ryan trying to ease the tension between paco and kev but he also was the glue helping the podcast find peace again 😂 and paco, although he’d get distracted with his roasts, did so well segwaying into topics and going back into professional mode. Kev, he was just a sight to see ( not in a creepy way) just seeing the two guys who brought so much laughter in 5-100 year olds lives together again was so cool. I can tell they got lost in there memories together which also brought me back to whatever I was doing at their time too 😂 all that nostalgia was refreshing. So thanks haha 😅 for the laughter and joy you’ve spread on this platform. I hope you ALL continue doing what makes you happy..... oh and cool vid very much like A+ 👍🏽

I think the point he was making is that he knows it's a lot of responsibility, and wants to better himself as a person so he can have the more positive influence on people that he can have.

Kevin has legit the most calming voice. He should definitely have his own podcast or be a regular on Off The Pill. He has such a charismatic and magnetic personality too. Have been a massive fan since the beginning and will continue to support. We care about and miss you man

I started watching Ryan back when he made how to be emo. Then I branched out to all of his friends and found kev. This is amazing! So good to see kev again.

I watched this whole podcast and was like no you guys have so much more time to talk! I didn’t realize it’s almost an hour long! In other words I I loved this. I’m about 7 months late but yes I know the community would LOVE to see more Kev, Paco and Ryan !!!

Truly grew up watching you guys during those golden years of youtube. You really raised a generation of kids, especially Asian kids. And even if many of us grew and stopped watching and following on a regular basis, coming back to watch you guys now feels like nothing has changed. Thanks so much for everything you guys have done and will continue to do.

I haven't been keeping up with Ryan recently, I feel like i out grew his content.... But i heard Kevin was in a video. And I had to watch! I was in high school when Ryan and Kevin were at the top of KZread. They were some of the first channels I subscribed to. I loved them so much. Then, all of a sudden, Kevin dissapeared. That was a heartbreaking time. Shortly after he left, KZread changed a lot. And I think Ryan and Kevin paved the way. I am so happy to see Kevin is doing well, and Ryan is staying strong. Thank you both for bringing laughter into my angsty teenage years. 💜

@@desdesuyu I don't remember Ryan making 1 hour podcasts before. He made a few rants which were funny and from there ita changed to 1 hour long podcasts. If that's not a change then I don't know what is.

i still respect kevjumba and i missed hi videos, but i'm happy he's still friends with all these youtubers while still being humble and charismatic

its been so many years and I can still sing the entirety of nice guys
