Thanks so much for sharing. I had similar back pains, like you said, difficult to explain. I said the same as you, lower back pain but not my spine. I haven't heard anyone else say they had that symptom. It makes me feel so much better that someone else has had the same symptom. Not that we both have cancer 😂 but that I'm not the only one with the symptoms.

wow you have done amazing 👏 I was 56 when i was told i have bowl cancer and that was 7 years ago , but unfortunately i still have problems with my bowls but am carrying on regardless but i had a colanoscapy another ago and they found a large polyp so am going in to have it removed. But am very pleased you are now cancer free 🙂

Thanks so much Kevin, My journey so far seems to be almost a carbon copy of yours. I too was nearly 20st and lost nearly 6st on a Keto diet in about 8 months. Like you i chose to ignore the blood spots after straining through constipation, putting it down to skin tear or piles, how wrong was i, I had 5 weeks of 5 days (w/e off) tablet chemo, which i was also told was the lesser of the two evils, along with up to 20 minutes of Radiotherapy each time, Turned out to be the part of the treatment which caused the most damage ( burning & scaring ) to the inside of my lower bowel which didn't kill the B@s*%$?D, Now spread to where i need to have 3 months further chemo, Both kinds, and then the bag possibly.

Wow!!! I finally found someone who have the same symptoms, but I am a women been having constipation and lower back pain for the last couple of months. I am waiting on my GI Dr which is not until the end of January 31,2023.

Hey Kevin, you are doing as fine as could be expected. Beeing in exactly yore situation i know all about the uncertanty and fears that´s on your mind in the begining. Youre life is never going to be as it was, that´s a fact. So just take everything as it comes makes things easier. I´m on my way towards two years and it´s in the last months that i´m really fealing that´s i am in control, i have the experiance to handle whatewer comes up. So just give it time mate...

Thank you so much for sharing your story, my husband had same diagnosis as you and completed chemo radiotherapy 6 weeks ago. He has an MRI and CT scan on Monday to see how well the treatment has done. I am praying his outcome is the same as yours and I will definitely ask him to listen to your story as it is a positive one and a very dark time in our lives. It's werid you're not put to sleep for the colonoscopy

It's because it was a sigmoidoscopy, which only involves the rectum and the lower part of the colon....so, just a partial colonoscopy. This usually just requires a local anesthetic to numb the area so that no discomfort is felt during the insertion of the sigmoidoscope.
