More on Kevin:
During his 8 years in illustration, Kevin was commissioned to create over 250 commercial works for major entities like Random House, R.J. Reynolds, Viacom, Putnam/Penguin, National Geographic, Milton Bradley, St. Maarten Press, Barnes & Noble, Sega, MTV, L’Oreal USA, Virgin Records, Lucas Arts, and the Rolling Stones.
In the 15 years of portraiture that followed, Kevin delivered portraits for an exceptional client base, including names such as John Prestbo (Former Executive Director of the Dow Jones Indexes), George Takei (Actor), Richard Herd (Actor), Rich Gaspari (World Champion Body Builder), and other names Kevin is not permitted to mention as per contract.
Kevin has now turned his focus on giving back to others. Through his Art Academy and Evolve Artist, he is now sharing his accumulated wealth of knowledge and experience back to others, artists who have the desire to achieve greatly, are willing to put in the work, but need a pathway to gaining the serious skills necessary to create art without limitations.

Bob Ross was awesome. But if you do Evolve you can do just as good and maybe better. Art is all about technique and the spin you put on it.

This is like meeting myself. Kind of mind blowing. I use the line in my workshops and lessons all the time " There is no such thing as talent there is only hard work" . Also the whole story. I was a construction worker too when i was 18-mid 20s. I began really doing my studies into art through books while commuting via ferry. I was fortunate enough to start learning how to paint in my mid 20's after a rough start to my adult life and fast forward now and its my profession. Anyone can do it. Anyone.

I can relate to Kevin's experience. It was almost identical to mine except I went the 4 full years of art school back in the early 90's and the only thing I got out of it was just things I learned by accident due to the shear amount of hours I was putting in. I never met a mentor type person like he did so instead of continuing I just quit because I just couldn't see how to get better and I needed to make money so went and got a normal job. I decided to sign up for his program because his story just resonated so much with me.

His story sounds very familiar. I had the same feeling the first time I walked in Larry Elmore's studio. Most people know his work through Dungeons and Dragons. Turns out he lives about 7 miles from me. His knowledge has really helped me and we've become friends over the last several years. The knowledge is the most valuable tool you can have.

He said SVA and I started to laugh as I had heard stories about how you learn nothing there. I dodged a bullet as I was thinking of going there but never actually applied. Its so true that they don't teach you what you need to know at those schools. The same can be applied to many ballet schools.

So inspiring! I have been scared to learn painting due to fear of failure, but this video really showed me that with the right knowledge and enough hours put in, that I could improve dramatically in my skill level. I’m hoping to be able to take the Evolve course in the future when I can make it happen financially. That would be so exciting :)

Hey John, I can see where you're coming from if you're used to one-off online courses or if you're trying to learn off of KZread (and you're not the only one to ring this bell!). But whenever you compare PRICE you must also compare VALUE. Evolve's value is more similar to that of an atelier or university than a workshop class or helpful KZread videos. We get artists to pro level art skills in 12 months part time or 3 months full-time. (Ateliers and universities do that in 3 or 4 years, minimum, while KZread promises nothing). We give constructive feedback on every single painting assignment. We have clear assignments and processes at every stage of the journey where we personally monitor your progress. Weekly live classes. One-on-one meetings with coaches. Your one-stop-shop to pro art skills, everything provided for at one price. Is it silly expensive compared to KZread? Sure. Is it ridiculously cheap compared to other comprehensive and complete art educations? You bet it is. But even more valuable is the time you save. What is your time worth? Do you want to spend years of your life trying to self-direct your own growth, with the potential risk of never getting any closer than you were in previous years? How much money equates to 1 year of your life? If you KNEW that Evolve could save you AT LEAST 1 year of learning, how much would you be willing to pay?... knowing that after one year of consistent, part-time study, you could be making the paintings you always dreamed of making? Make no mistake we are looking for people who are serious about developing their skills so that they are fully equipped to make art without limitations. Do you want to make incredible art? If yes, the next question is simply, can you afford to commit roughly 7 hours / week and a fraction of University tuition to essentially guarantee the skills to make the incredible art you want to make, in 1 year's time? We are aware that, sadly, not everyone can afford this. We keep our profit margins slim to make our program as accessible as possible, but we also need to take care of our dedicated team that delivers feedback, meets with you one-to-one, leads weekly live classes, and commits to your success every day. But if this is something you can afford financially, it's an incredible opportunity to finally unleash your originality and creativity onto canvas with confidence. The true cost of "free" KZread is that it takes away your time, your most precious commodity. I don't know about you, but I CAN'T afford to waste years of my life stuck going in circles and never making any real progress towards my dreams. If you have more questions about how it is that KZread and most online-workshops take away your time and fail to deliver a complete education, let me know and I'd be happy to provide a host of reasons. Whether you join Evolve or not John, I really hope that these thoughts help you to consider the value vs cost of an education that you can trust in. If you were let down by a formal education in the past, I feel your pain. Evolve was partly birthed out of our frustration towards art education as a whole and we're really passionate about raising up a new wave of artists who get real results and really leave a mark in history. Let me know if you have any questions. Warmly 🙂 ~ Daniel
