In my opinion, the actual definition of a "Gangster" is a professional that deals in illegal business. Every move a gangster makes is because of a profit they will receive now or later, and no emotions will be involved with these actions. The definition of a "Thug" is a person that is willing to do ANYTHING to have their way and receive currency. The majority of thugs act off of emotions and are typically wild and unprofessional. Gangsters usually hire thugs to do all of their dirty work. Other than that, gangsters don't associate with thugs because they're a liability to bigger business.
