His ability to Defend, Rebound, Shoot, Energize and understanding the fundamentals of this beautiful game demands respect of any true Basketball fan. His love, passion and tenacity for the game is incomparable. Thank You KG for giving us another season to watch you play. Sincerely from a Raptors Fan.

That is one of the best comments I have ever read on KZread. The fact that you recognize what you do about KG says a lot about your basketball knowledge. I too am thankful that he is giving us another year and still contributing despite what the haters say. Good Luck to your Raptors!

uhjinlee He was my favourite player for quite a while for the reasons you stated, plus he is a great character. One of the very few players who could play all five positions. From a Magic fan (or at least I was until they took basketball off the air in my country :( ).

CowLunch KG could definitely NOT play PG or SG hell barely SF.. He's an all time great and HOF no doubt so don't get me wrong but you're being delusional saying that he could play all 5 positions lmao.

The NBA will never be the same without you. Your intensity of playing Basketball will be missed. The Best Defensive PF of all time. Kobe, Nash, Tim, KG....--->Dirk is next and then the era of 90's is over.

The debate with Garnett/Duncan? Two completely different players. I don't think anyone would argue that Duncan had the better supporting cast, coach.. even some time to learn with David Robinson. If Garnett were just to play the low post position like Duncan, Duncan would be better. Watch his highlights. All of his plays are within 5 feet of the hoop. Duncan just has the better build for that. But c'mon.. there's no comparison when it comes to ball handling, shooting range, defensive range, passing.. so many things that Garnett could do that Duncan wouldn't even consider trying. But at the end of the day, if Garnett/Duncan switched, I'm don't think the Spurs win as many titles. Duncan's presence was more focused, everyone else's role was more defined where it's an easier team game that way, more consistent. Spurs' coach be a big reason for that, too.

If they switched places, people would have said that Duncan won so many titles because he played with great players like Wally Szczerbiak, Marc Jackson, Joe Smith, Troy Hudson, Rasho Nesterovic, etc while Garnett played with an washed up David Robinson, some soft Euros, etc. KG was an awesome player but Duncan was a winner. I compare them to Bill and Wilt. While Chamberlain and Garnett had the individual stats, Russell and Duncan won the titles.

they are all wrong, paul pierce doesn't have one 'cause nba made this for all the all stars in 2013, that's why someone who had had it before got a fresh top 10, had pierce been chosen an all star then, he would've had it as well

Duncan had David Robinson, Tony Parker, and Manu G. Malone had J. Stockton. KG didn't had any of them until very later in his career, i think he's better than both of them. 2cents

militar3rd I agree his career woulda been different, MUCH different if he had good surrounding casts, but better than Duncan & Malone? I disagree. 1. Duncan 2. Malone 3.KG or Barkley(I'm going with KG) 4.KG or Barkley(I'm going with Barkley) 5.Dirk

Dirk led his team to two finals appearances, McHale was a more dominant low post player, but I wouldn't take him over Dirk, He's got his rings cause of Bird, Dirk has his rings cause of Dirk. Not to mention 1 MVP > 0

Incredible player. There's no-one else like him., As intense as the greatest players i've seen like Jordan, Magic, Bird were, i don't think you could say they were more intense, or played harder than this man. He'd play the first minute of pre-season game as full-on as he played the 7th game of playoff series and plays every minute in between the same. 100% all the time. The man is a machine. Also just an incredibly great player and the best all-around defensive player since Bill Russell.

thespider108 I am not talking about rings i am talking individual skill wise, KG had a mean post fade-away and he was an excellent defender as well as passer and mid range shooter therefore in my opinion Garnett is the best pf in his prime

Areez Khan Well then you forget Duncan having the best low post most ever besides possibly McHale, interior defence he is better than Garnett, a better scorer, rebounder and winner. You do realize in the 03 finals he averaged 27/17/5/5/1 and almost had a quad, Garnett is my favourite of all time and the second greatest PF ever, but by Duncan's sixth year in the league he was the greatest PF ever, it took Ggarnett 13 years and a ring to secure a top 3 status.

Eh, sort of. Keep in mind that Duncan practically led an aging Spurs team back to a title in '03, winning the Finals MVP vs New Jersey. He dominated that year. In 99, well, he was young, but he had post moves to rival practically anyone, and on a Spurs team whose only real stars were Robinson and Elliot. You began to see him really age in 05, and even then he remained effective in the Finals. Now Parker and Ginobili have been an effective duo to compliment Duncan well, but even then, great players have the ability not only to lead their teams in statistics, but in conduct. And about the easy points, watch Duncan's earlier years, and you'll see he had to fight for his baskets. He still technically does, but he's been shifted to center from PF, and back to PF, but now he has to play closer to the basket because of his age. Now I'm not saying Garnett is incapable of scoring or is simply bad. In fact, KG's one of my favorite PFs of all time. I'm just saying that when compared to Duncan, I think Duncan's the better player.

Really I think @58seconds explains it all,he knew Timmy was going to throw the outlet to his point guard which is the correct play thus the nickname(Big Fundamental) to do,Timmy's good but K.G had the vision to anticipate that sniffed out stole the pass passed it to his point guard then point guard lobbed it and k.G dunks on Timmy that in a nutshell explains why he's K.G>Timmy.

mr74og rings, stats what else is it. tim duncans 4 rings to 1. duncan is a better rebounder, scorer. People always say Garnett had the worse team and Duncan was lucky to be put in a great system. while he has better stats then KG kevin garnett has been playing longer then him and he still has better stats. what does that show you. who else did tim duncan have before just with david robinson. nobody had known of manu ginobili before or tony parker. 4x NBA Championships -3x Finals MVP -2x MVP.
