I remember the season before.. I thought we were so bad that i'd never see the C's raise a banner in my lifetime. KG came and changed the franchise within a season. 2008 was unreal and as a Celtics fanatic, I can't even express what KG has meant for the franchise. I wasn't able to see Bill Russel or Larry Bird. But I saw Kevin Garnett...

I saw Larry Bird play his whole career here in Boston; he taught me what the Celtics were all about, and gave me an appreciation for what guys like Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, John Havlicek, Bill Cowens, and the rest that preceded him had done to make a Celtics jersey mean something. Something about dedication to greatness, teamwork, hard work, and collectively outsmarting other teams. Kevin Garnett could have played on any of those teams, and fit right in. To think of him stepping out on the court to challenge any team in history with great individual and team defenders Russell, Havlicek, DJ, and Cousy is something to dream about. No one would score on that group. We Celtics fans have been greatly blessed for 70 years.

KG was simply unreal. I was in Middleschool in 8th grade when he decide to come to the Celti s and I was so glad I was a Celtics fan. His level of play, passion, relentless attitude and the way we smashed the Lakers by 40 points in an NBA finals game with Kobe Bryant as the opponent was the icing on the cake. There has never been another like KG, and those powerful, long tears of his while raising the rafters was just......wow. The man loves with his whole heart, his whole entire being and you can just feel it. You deserve KG, you are the personification of what it means to be a Boston Celtic.

Wow!!!! There will never be any other numbers left for these players to play the way Celtic Pride is. Goes to show you the mysticism that Boston fans are that shows pride to their team. Congrats to Kevin Garnett for his jersey retired. I remember watching him when he was in Chicago playing In high school from Farragut along with his high school teammate Ronnie Fields which I would love to see him be selected to have his dreams in the NBA but things didn't work out for him at the time. However as for Kevin look what he done to the NBA from high school player struggling to get into the big league from where he's now, Being an NBA champion, Minnesota, Boston and Brooklyn. Great good teams he played, but he put a stamp of appeal in Minnesota as the worst to dynamic team thx to the late great Flip Saunders. I'm sure he's watching in heaven as well as Kobe Bryant giving thx up above as partying thx too. Way to go, Well deserved.

He was unforgiving of what ray allen did then and for a while, he wasn't budging, but oh man, when it comes full circle and you're truly ready to forgive. This hanging of KG's jersey wouldn't have been in full completion without Ray in it. Them three embracing did it for me, and I'm not a celtic fan. Kudos
