    @oo70mar if you've never heard keep your hands up idk if you've played basketball.. the second your HAND reaches in and doesn't get ball or disrupts the play while making contact, it can be called a foul. Technically all "fouls are subjective so there is no real baseline to go off just template's. Now in this situation, KD didn't keep his hands out while Luka was driving past (after the screen) and he made contact going in. Yeah nothing crazy but still a considerable foul which was called! No offense but you seem angry about something else here not sure what that is!

    right. i feel like most refs have to think the same at this point. but they still call it bcuz thats what the rules say (i would think). the refs should just all get together and contact the league about these ridiculous rules. id think reffing would be easier if there wasn't a foul call to make (according to the rules) every 10 seconds and constant arguing.

    Luka swinging his arms to initiate the contact and get the foul is similar to when KD use to rip thru the defenders arm if they had it extended when faced up. @@Geeandrezzi Yeah sure, but the screen in inconsequential to the foul, sure it brings Doncic into Durant faster because he's using the screen to get an edge and try to turn the corner by leaning into Durant, but the foul only happens after the screen. You can see when Doncic lean in, Durant hand is behind him, but KD doesn't want to allow him in so he brings his hand down between him and Doncic, already he's testing the limits, but refs will allow some physicallity the problem is in that position he's exposed to what Luka does which is raise his hands for a shot while his hands are clipped under which results in a fault. Durant is complaining because not bringing his hand down makes it way easier for Doncic to get a step in front of him which open up all sort of angles to attack the basket. Bringing the screen in the discussion has nothing to do with the fault tho except pointing out why he was getting in trouble defensively which the ref acknowledge when he says it's hard, because it is indeed fucking hard to try to stay in front of a player when that player just used a screen to get an edge on you. Still even if it's hard that's the game, that's the rules and being frustrated about your positioning doesn't mean you can put your hands on the offensive player body without exposing you to him trying to draw a foul from that.

    For everybody here talking about the screen when ref said no screen: KD was saying he got bumped off screen into Luka. That is clearly not what happened, as he had 2 full steps after the bump, the ref told him the foul happened in the 1v1 exchange. And this is not a Harden move by Luka, KD reached in to try and get the ball and got burned.

  • @schwajj

    @schwajj

    3 жыл бұрын

    The first part of what you said is correct, about the two steps. I don’t think KD reached though. It looked like Luka slipped his shooting hand, without the ball, inside KD’s arm. Like KD said, “it’s clever, looks like a foul”. The ref had to make the call, but it wasn’t Luka going up in an actual shooting motion, the ball was still in his left hand. A very cleverly drawn foul. A bit unsportsmanlike, but par for the broader culture unfortunately. I’m glad to see this exchange, it gave me a deeper understanding of the bball IQ of these amazing players.

  • @green8026
    @green80263 жыл бұрын

    Kevin Durant wasn't able to get there in time, or he could have defended appropriately with his right hand instead. the screen worked, so durant was far behind once it became a 1-on-1, so could only do any defense at that point with his left, since he was lagging behind. he wasn't able to turn around to face Luka and use his right (aka get in front of him as a defender). just a good screen and Luka utilizing Durant's bad defensive positioning (which was a result of the good screen).
