I met Kevin Conroy at Florida Supercon 2015. I was so excited to meet him. When the doors opened, I ran to his booth and stayed in line. I didn't leave until I got to meet him. I was the first one in line waiting for hours holding my Arkham video games. When he came in, I was so nervous. Suddenly and without warning, he jumped on top of his table and yelled in his Batman voice "I am vengeance! I am the night! I AM BATMAN!!!" That moment made me feel like I was six years old again watching Batman: The Animated Series. I was literally looking up at him when he did that and can still remember it so clearly like it was yesterday. The convention rep said they weren't allowing pictures with him. After he autographed my Arkham video game collection, I asked to take a picture with him and he said 'Yes'. Kevin was funny, kind, and professional. Whenever he was at a convention, I'd go to his panels and hear his experiences voicing Batman. He was always excited to meet everyone in conventions and share hilarious stories in his panels. I will miss him. Vaya con Dios Kevin.

Had me sobbing when I saw the news. Kevin was my batman growing up as a kid. When you thought about batman, or read the comics; you always heard his voice in your mind. He was the MVP GOAT of all batmen, and I honestly never got to thank him in person for his work, and that hurts a lot more than people think.

In my opinion, Kevin Conroy was the only actor who effectively portrayed Batman AND Bruce Wayne. His Batman voice was tough, stoic and confident. His Bruce Wayne voice was gentlemanly, kind and affable. For an actor, it's a real challenge to separate a superhero from his alter ego, and Kevin accomplished that. RIP.

cancer has taken a lot of people...and seeing one of my most beloved voice actors die to it...just makes me sad. This guy was... *THE* Batman...and he will always be in my heart. Batman will never feel the same again.

I am completely blindsided by this sad news. Witnessing the talent that this man brought to the character while growing up watching Batman the animated series, batman beyond, and justice league the animated series was nothing short of greatness. May you rest in peace Mr. Conroy.

I hope he knew how much we loved him as Batman. He was the iconic voice of Batman in BTAS, and then he reprised his role in the Justice League and JLU shows, and finally in the Arkham series of video games. IMO, he was the best Batman, played Batman in the best Batman movie (Mask of the Phantasm), and the best Batman video game (Arkham Knight). RIP Kevin Conroy.

No words can describe this heart break...

It's unfortunate that we lost this champion. But I will never forget him. I remember that there was a documentary about how whenever someone read a Batman comic, Kevin's voice is all they heard. And that is very true. Whenever I think of Batman, I will always think of Kevin. While I'm no die hard DC Fan, I'm a die hard Batman nerd.

I was never a big comic book kid, so growing up, my first exposure to Batman was sitting at home watching the animated series on Cartoon Network. For me, Kevin Conroy WAS Batman , and though many came after, none will ever be the same, RIP Mr. Conroy , you will live on through your work forever.

Rest in Peace Kevin!! Thank you for being a big part of my childhood and your iconic voice as Batman. My motivation in life to deal with hard times, to keep getting up and face my fears and keep fighting for a better life. Your performance as Batman helped me to push on and will continue to. RIP!!

Kevin Conroy was the Bat Man since the 90's. That man's work as The Dark Knight made the darker version of that DC character and his work will never be forgotten. I would've given up on Bat Man twenty years ago if it weren't for him. Rest In Peace Dark Knight.

They way undersold him in this, not only did he do Batman TAS, but in the same universe he did Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Worlds Finest, and Batman Beyond! Not to mention his work in the Arkham Games, The Injustice franchise, and even more. He portrayed, in my opinion, the two best ever versions of batman, and he will be greatly missed!!

Along with the late Adam West, Kevin Conroy was the only person I knew as Batman growing up in the late 90’s and early 2000s. I grew up watching the DCAU franchise, from Batman Beyond to Justice league unlimited (I wasn’t born when Batman TAS first started airing, and I was really, really young when Superman TAS began, so most of my viewings for those two were from reruns in the early 2000s). Hearing that Kevin Conroy, someone whose voice I grew up listening to on tv, had died came as shock. Rest in peace, Kevin Conroy. Thank you for many of my childhood memories through your role as Bruce Wayne/Batman

I can't believe this! Kevin has inspired so many voice-actors with his excellent work (myself especially). I've mimicked his voice for years because his elocution was so crisp, ...he was THE definitive Superhero voice we all grew up with. ...this feels like losing a family member. I sincerely hope for his family to be ok, but I know what it's like to lose someone you love to cancer. I'm really going to miss you Kevin, you were a gentleman, ...you were the best of us.

i have seen so many videos on trivutes and mourning of kevin but each and every one of them i was still in shock, it only hit me today and i have finally started to cry out of sadness for him. the last few weeks have been tough for me dealing with a cold the day he dies, learning he dies, getting hit by someone while i ski, almost dying in a car crash and a few more personal things it finally hit me today and I am breaking down now. i loved kevin and met him in september at a local con i wish i had gotten hisd signature, i had the chance but didnt take it because i wanted a signature from tara strong instead and thought id have the chance next year because kevin told me he had already intended to go back next year.

Definitely a sad day, he will truly be missed.

Some voice actors are a Swiss army knife of voices and have a slew of voices they do exceptionally well. Others have one voice that they do so well that no one else can imitate it. Conroy was one of the latter, and he will be sorely missed. RIP
