I worked on the air conditioning at Kev & Betty's house when I was an apprentice and he is one of the cleverest, loveliest guys you'll ever meet. Both of them are the uncle and aunt you always wanted but never got. He adores his kids and grandkids and they are the best grandparents. He's a national treasure.

And it's only gotten worse since you wrote that comment, Tony. Now we live in the 'age of offended'. Every bloody thing is offensive, if they want it to be. I can't even write comments about my bl*ck f*lla mates without someone in head office here thinking it's racist and deleting the comment. I can't even shorten the name aboriginal to the first 3 letters, as most aussies do. But to be fair - I lived next to a reserve and they lived closer to their ancestors than any I've met in the city... a little sad, but, those in the cities have been taught to be offended while they offend whoever the hell they want... or at least the ones I've met. Those bushie mates loved to laugh, especially at themselves. Kev would have appealed to their sense of humour in a big way.

Sure, we will build them a mosque as long as they let us build a pub, a bottle shop and a strippers across the road from it." That got a very good laugh.

When the interviewer asked him about not being "In the mainstream," I was reminded of Frank Zappa. Zappa could have been a great commercial success if he was in the mainstream. He could have been a superstar if he stuck to pop music. Zappa, like Wilson, marched to the beat of a different drummer. In my mind, comedy is sacrosanct. Political correctness has caused many black comedians to boycott shows on college campuses. Mel Brooks could not produce Blazing Saddles in the current environment. The average American Indian could not give a rats ass about the word Indian, the Braves, the Indians, the Redskins, etc. A tiny minority of Americans are dictating to the vast majority! My first exposure to Kevin "Bloody" Wilson was a third or fourth generation back in about 1992. I have been a fan ever since. I am part Mick, part Limey, part Kraut and I have NEVER lost my ability to take a joke!

I saw Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson at the Wellington Town Hall in 1987. The place was packed to the hilt. Some guy in the balcony seats kept screaming out while he was talking. Kevin called out, 'If ya don't shut up, I;ll come up there and rip your head off and the security will piss down your neck' Everyone in the place just cheered in agreement. One of the funniest shows I went to and I was 3 rows from the front of the stage.

What a champion, and dead right about the racism too. Some of my best mates are aborignial, they love his songs like I do. What is a bit forgotten is that he is extremely talented as a musician!! listen to his music the songs are well written. a bit underrated i reckon. 'the flood of 95' sung by Slim Dusty was written by Kev it is a terrific song
Nearly 2023 and this is how far and fast our world has gone to shit. True Aussie
I am part Mick, part Limey, part Kraut and I have NEVER lost my ability to take a joke!
how many so called artists today can just burst into a live performance from the interviewers chair? amazing!
when i watch this it makes me proud to be an aussie what a legand
I just love this guy
You're a fucken' legend Kev love your work mate always listen to your songs
Love Kev, he's absolutely brilliant
Absolute legend! KBW makes people laugh, whilst respecting people. He never once took offence to Dentons hard-hitting questions, he answered them in honesty.
Love Kev, he is a classic comic music classic😂😂😂
I saw Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson at the Wellington Town Hall in 1987. The place was packed to the hilt. Some guy in the balcony seats kept screaming out while he was talking. Kevin called out, 'If ya don't shut up, I;ll come up there and rip your head off and the security will piss down your neck' Everyone in the place just cheered in agreement. One of the funniest shows I went to and I was 3 rows from the front of the stage.
old mate sitting near kev's missus should remove that pole from his backside and have a laugh

Yea, What a F-Wit.
22 haters... DILLIGAF?
I can believe how well-spoken he is. wow what an actor he is
Kevin Bloody Wilson is fricken awesome!!!
That quip about Camilla Parker-Bowles (Queen Consort sounds saucy dunnit) was golden... "You wouldn't fuck her on a footy trip...". Ahhh KBW is priceless. What a legend.
This bloke is a national Treasure
Chalk that up as an achievement - getting the audience of Enough Rope to join in with DILLIGAF......... Only Kev......
I’m glad he never went mainstream
First ever gig Magnum Irvine way back mid 80s I never stopped laughing
legend, see you tomorrow night !!! cant wait!
hahah good ole kev, i went along to the dilligaf tour in perth. Sooo good.
very good interview.
Funny as hell, I wish him all the best..!!
An Aussie Icon!!!
Once met Dennis at his home in Scarborough W.A. with his daughter Tammy. His public persona as Kevin Bloody and his private self could not be more different. His satirical persona must have been a satisfaction for his own ego. I can't see KBW as being anything other that Dennis's "revenge" on a class of people who he despised.
Going to watch him in October in Basingstoke
Hello from Scotland! I had never heard of this guy until someone on a Celtic FC forum pointed him out that hes playing here in Motherwell on tuesday. I love the guy already! Absolutely hilarious and his direct style is so unique! Think i might purchase a couple of tickets to it for me and my burd ;) Cheers for the vids HungryJacks mate :)

A legend you say , your praising and putting a deciever on a pedestal, like all of them , they play multiple people, ask Kevin how Rodney rude is , its him , all actors , liars deciever
Legend!!
UNREAL GUYS... BOTH
Imagine the complete outrage if this was recorded today.
I remember camping on the Mitta Mitta River when I heard Santa Claus you ....................where's me ........bike. dropped to my knees and roared with laughter.
I love this guy 😂
Superb...
I remember buying your average Australian yobbo from 78 records in Perth you had to ask for it and they had it under the counter on cassette. Circa 1983 . Australian icon kev
"you're not exactly showing them a great deal of respect" ......... "fuck em"
He didn't sound condescending. It's an awkward thing to ask a person but needed to be asked; Notice how it spawned some very interesting insights from KBW.
Hey he the best always love him 😅
If Kev can make the Indigenous people of Australia laugh and they gift him Artwork and his guitars are painted then he is never racist
A true blue legend
Denton has enormous balls interviewing this bloke. You can see he's uncomfortable and not convinced but still gives the man the space to air his feelings. Kudos to AD.
34 people must of disliked the fact Kev is being interviewed by a political correct andrew Denton.
A fucking legend, this man. :D
I was at the gig in Usk he mentions. Fucking legend.
International star.. my dad taught us how to swear more efficiently by giving us the album. Aged 11. What a great bloke. Eh?
Hey Santa... or actually a censored version was played I believed once in 1988 on Fox FM... It was absolutely funny as on the packed freeway into the city I can tell who was listening to the song.... They were all laughing ever so hard and some nearly had nose to end crashes because they were laughing so hard.
XD I'm so dead from this. 🤣
