Kettlewell Villlage Walk | Beautiful English Village | Yorkshire Dales National Park | 4K

A spring walk around one of the UK's most picturesque villages, situated in the Yorkshire Dale's National Park. This village attracts 1000's of tourists, and walkers, which enjoy exploring the old narrow streets, buildings, pubs and the many walks, which can be taken in all directions in to the scenic English Countryside. It is believed that the name Kettlewell is Anglo Saxon and comes from Chetelewelle which means a bubbling spring or stream. Signs of the farming methods of Romano-British and early medieval agriculture can still be seen in terraced fields to the north and the south of the village. In the 13th century a market was established in Kettlewell, which became a thriving community. The Thursday market mostly sold corn outside the King's Arms. A watermill was built on the River Wharfe in the 13th century to grind corn. Textiles (and, in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, lead mining) revitalised the village and Kettlewell's appearance today derives much from its past 200 years. The remains of the smelting-mill, used from 1700 to 1880, can be seen near the meeting of Cam Gill and Dowber Gill Becks half a mile above the village.

Thanks for sharing. My kids spent a lot of their childhood here camping and at the annual scarecrow festival and it was my late partner’s favourite place - such a special place.

What a great area to be born in! I'm just trying to picture the top half of the village..I have filmed this twice..I may have got it in the first film.. Kettlewell and the surrounding areas are probably my favourite spot in the Dales..I love the drive to Middleham area..I will recheck my first video, and see if I captured the top half.. I agree, would be alot better without the cars..I often think that when filming these beautiful villages..I often have to stop filming, and start again..due bin wagons, lorrys spoiling the tranquility!😄thanks for yor comment Brian 🥾
