Malaysia constitutional monarchy is the Conference of Rulers, consisting of the nine rulers known as Sultan and the four Yang di-Pertua Negeris. Every five years the Conference will gather to elect the Yang di-Pertuan Agong who is the Supreme Head or the King. Only the rulers participate in the election of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, as well as discussions related to rulers' privileges and religious observances. The main role of the Conference in the federal governance is to give consent to amendments of certain entrenched provisions of the federal constitution, namely those pertaining to the status of the rulers, the special privileges of the Bumiputra, the status of the Malay language as the national language, and the status of Islam as the religion of the federation.
A reaseach said that the Malay constitutional monarchy was started as early as year 101-200 known as Kerajaan Kedah or also known as Kerajaan Langkasuka Purba. The Malaysia constitutional monarchy is unique because it is a symbol of nation stability and harmony
