Today we witnessed the male Kestrel visit the nest with food offerings. Usually the female leaves the nest to rendezvous with the male nearby to collect the food. The female remains quite protective of the nest and usually ushers the male away quickly.
Today the chicks were fed a variety of insects, lizards and snakes.
We are starting to see the female encouraging the chicks to work to take the food from her. This will become more obvious as they get larger where we will see keen competition for food.
