If you don't know him, you should check him as well. He's one of the greatest artist in the History of music in my opinion (thus, I'm biased). don't know if you have already listen to "l'impasse" by Kery James, but it's closely the same kind of song, and it was more than 10 years ago man, why the hell nothing changes ?!

Actually they are exposing different perspectives. Kery basically say that it not gouvernement who is at fault here (human beings choose what they become, if you end up in a bad situation it because you didn't fight to succeed) kery has success because he fight for it. Orelsan say that it's the gouvernement fault.

I think your made a mistake in your analysis, Orelsan doesnt talk about white problems but from the point of view a bit condescending of what we could call left white middle class whereas Kery james is more in a sort of autocriticism and pragmatic point of view. They both talk about the struggle of the same minorities, but orelsan says the fault is of the state and kery james says its the fault of the minorities themselves : "we never needed the state to fulfill our graves". You should listen to constat amer, one of the most powerful, subversive songs of kery james, and listen to orelsan, he's one of the best French rappers !
