    This wedding film was shot solo by Kraig Adams on a Sony A7Sii. This is a "shooting the bride" wedding and the full behind the scenes video will be posted soon. Like this if you're excited to watch how this wedding film was created!

    Hey! I've noticed how you've learned and shot weddings aswell! I'm learning and aim to do this too! Mind giving a couple tips from your experience starting out and from now? I'm familiar with editing,tech, etc., could you give advice on starting your business,how you did it,etc? Thanks in advance for helping others learn what you'e learned! (And don't worry,I live across the US from you so I'm not your competition!)

    For sure man. Where you from? I was in the Air Force for awhile and been all over the world. But when I started I just used weebly.com to create my website, which is a simple website builder. I shot my first video for free. Then I found another couple for $300, and I now I am booking them for $1500. In the US they have a site called Thumbtack.com and in this site couples will have a public message stating they need a videographer. It cost about $5 dollars to message and only 5 people can message them. This site has got me 80% of my weddings. IDK if they have something like that where you live. But now that I have a dozen weddings under me I am starting to get referrals. I am also on wedding wire.com, but I have only got 2-3 weddings from that site and it cost 80 bucks a month. So I paid for the service but not that great. It is nice because I track all my reviews there. But if you visit my website (www.camerakidd.com) I also use "bookeo' which is an online system embedded into my website that allows couples to book and pay for the deposit right from my website. This isn't very traditional but it keeps me very organized and simplifies a lot of tasks. It seems more couples are ready to book instead of wasting time during a meet and great, which I would actually prefer to do but it seems couples are happy to book online. Hope that helps

    Thanks! This helped ALOT! I'm a highschooler from Georgia and i find film fun. This is a great starting point for me! I usually did short films for fun with my phone's camera and edited sketches, until my phone recently broke! Now, I plan to work here and there, and try to get some more money to get equipment to start out and work my way up. Thanks again, and I appreciate this advice! Have a good one.

    Incredible Film, absolutely beautiful! I was just wondering how you never get any noise in any of your video? Even what you shot with Canon the image was always stunning, but when I shoot with any dark items in the frame there is always at least a little noise even with a low iso like 400 on my 60d. Do you use a noise reduction plugin for fcpx maybe?

  • @DuncanJMcMillan

    @DuncanJMcMillan

    7 жыл бұрын

    He shoots on the Sony A7Sii which if you know anything about The A7 series or, Sony in general, has amazing low light capabilities (just google it). I shoot on a T3i so I know the struggle. Things to help are to never go above ISO 1600 (I generally only go to 800) so I use fast lenses (I try to stay below f/3.5) and also I have bought Neat Video which does noise reduction really well, however, doesn't do a great job with small amounts of noise (Red Giant also has noise reduction but I haven't used it). But, one thing to keep in mind if you do use noise reduction software is that it is VERY gpu heavy, I have dedicated graphics and each minute of video de-noised took between 1-5 minutes to render which if you are making a 2-hour documentary edit can add a lot of time because if you try to edit in fcpx without it rendering it will be so laggy you won't even be able to make cuts.

    What are your thoughts on filming Indian Weddings, they last 5 days. Mehendi Night Maticore Night Indian Ceremony Reception Ceremony Khangan. These one day weddings are nice, but i'd like to see you guys take on these full traditional ceremonies. Its pretty hectic and some advise and tips on these would be awesome, there's not alot of videos to help with understanding these kind of weddings. Also Muslim Weddings are nice (Nikah Ceremonies).

    really good... but i must say, focusing seems to be rather difficult to do as a lot of shots were out of focus even with what seemed to be something like a f5 or higher... a lot of people claim, that sony cameras are the best at c-af for video, but after all, for serious projects one might rather have the control of af the time and stick with m-af... :)

    pascal - I agree with this opinion. Although it's amazing he shot this entire thing by himself, this just doesn't move me, and It just seems off. Maybe it's the time-shifting that's a bit off, or the lack of a moving camera, steadicam/gimbal, which of course I understand a one-man band couldn't pull all that off, and the grade...well, never mind. Easy to criticise, and I mean no disrespect, you definitely busted a hump on this shoot, and you handle yourself extremely well!
