I never realized the zerlings kept respawning right there out of thin air. It would have been cool if there was an easter egg alternate ending for this mission if you manage to hold the line against the swarm.

If I remember correctly they don’t pop out of thin air. They’re buried in the ground. Using a cheat that shows the whole map you see them unbury themselves

@@chrism1966 No, it's scripted. The zerglings will continues spawning infinitely (but Ultralisk, hydralisk, queen, overlord will not). Back then, I was playing around with cheats e.g. "black sheep wall" and "staying alive". Even the protoss was assigned on the same team as the zerg, that's why their scouts can sneak up to your base from north side (near the zerg base).

Yeah. Or maybe something like In Utter Darkness where the Zerg keeps on getting more unfair until you can't handle them anymore.

Never realized it could be so easy to hold them off. They shoulda went all out and had ultras and guardians spawn in droves.

Right? Even in the video it's massive overkill, you really just need a row of tanks and bunkers (maybe some depots)

zerg should of been sending defilers with their armies between plague and dark swarm most defenses are trivial, but. Looking at the defense though defilers might not be able to get close.

Thanks for doing this. I remember watching this video as a kid. Glad you came back to the video and redid it.

It always looks so anticlimactic how, after the main wave has been dealt with, it's just a constant stream of zerglings running into a meat grinder with no chance of even hitting a single target. While it's a bit of a shame you can't really do this in the Mass Recall version, I certainly like how they used the cutscene from SC II instead

Yea, for real. If I were to edit the map I'd definitely have multiple triggers spawning different types of units. I wonder if they were afraid of hitting the unit cap for the Zerg player.

Holy shit I just realized you recreated the same video that you did 15 years ago. Amazing nostalgia. Even though you successfully fended off the Zerg wave, it’s implied that you eventually incur losses/run out of ammunition and get overrun. Kinda like the ending of halo reach.

Would have been a very nice little touch, easter-eggish even, if in Remastered they'd modified these triggers to spawn more aggressive waves until victory, instead of just zerglings. Would have been a very nice touch like... We know and love the property that we own.

If that was the case, I would have left one pylon alive in the top right protoss base then redeploy to the base in the bottom right. Double layer missile Turrets, Supply depot barricades then bunkers and siege tanks galore.

No evac needed when you simply dominate the Zerg swarm 😎😎💪🏻💪🏻

Except it's NOT, because without Kerrigan, Amon never gets resurrected. There's not enough psionic biomass anywhere except for the Overmind, which got destroyed before the Keystone could be completed. Duran copes and seethes, but humanity wins in the end.

In this storyline Amon doesn't exist because the whole character is dumb

I remember doing this one with double rows of bunkers with fully upgraded marines and firebats and siege tanks. I shredded them all, though when I first played it, I got raped by the zerg, like everybody else when they played it.

Pretty sure it's cannon that Kerrigan killed Mengsk's parents and cut off their heads. No one was really the "good guy".

Considering Mengsk used Psi Emitters to basically kill an entire populated planet of people to seize power, I’d say he wasn’t exactly a good guy at this point
