Keri Kitay: Terry's long goodbye | ABC Conversations Podcast

Ойын-сауық

Terry Kitay, a mum of three and a wife, had always been the linchpin of her family. She was the organiser, the cook, the keeper of the family rituals and always driving her kids to sport and watching their games.
But in her early 50s, Terry began to forget names, faces and daily routines. She eventually became confused and panicked much of the time. At 54, she was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.
Terry's daughter, Keri, has written a memoir tracing the years of her mum's decline. As the family navigated the medical system, they were also losing more and more pieces of their mother and grandmother.
