Not word for word but. First they say that Lithuanians are famous brewers. Northeastern Lithuanians are wont to not either meet or say farewell to a guest without a jug of beer. Then thay say that keptinis (baked) beer is characteristically brewed by women, since it involves a lot of baking around the traditional oven. The mash made out of malt is baked like a bread and as you see later, broken up and then mashed in a so called trinoge (three-foot). The stick in the middle with straw all around keeps the liquid inside while mashing. The straw also functions as a natural filter to not make the mash stuck and therefore keep liquid running for lautering. Then at the end they're lautering with water. Later interviewer asks the grannie if they also had second runnings for keptinis beer (or parti-gyle in English brewing terms). She said yes they did, sometimes they added sugar for second runnings to make it stronger, otherwise even children drank it. The first runnings are good as they are and she says is not fit to ruin with sugar or anything else. Cheers from Lithuanian born beer sommelier!
