    That orange analogy, Esterhuizen was very much part of that squeeze, the AB’s backline struggled to contain him. He’s more valuable in breaking down defenses than you think.

    @darrenwayne8263 I don't know if Zels is cool or not, I just don't think he knows much about training to a peak and the taper in the lead up to a big event. Athletes cannot perform at 100%, or even at 80%, during a whole season because there are parts of the season where the athlete is doing high intensity work and isn't physically capable of 80%. And that's just the fitness side. Rugby involves thinking as well as being fit, and this also takes time to build to a peak, finding the right combinations, etc. Rassie and Jacques have been saying exactly this for over a year, but Zels can't hear. Now they are hitting peak, like Rassie and Jacques have said they would, and now Zels isn't sure if this is a fluke or a plan. Just have some faith in the group that made the worst Sprinbok side in history into world champions overnight.

    So happy to see Siya get his props, Ive had so many arguments with people that have some sort of issue with him and I always defended him because I can see the work rate in the carries and tackles and rucks. He is massive in getting us over the advantage line and stopping opposition momentum with dominant tackles and strong counter rucks. The guy is a beast and in the best form of his career, irreplaceable in this team

  • @powerbite92

    Their tribute said that meyer had him carrying tackle bags in 2015 - thats a lie. Siya kept out Brussow and Coetzee, who were both far better and with them the Boks may have beaten the ABs. Nick Mallet and Faf recently went on record that he wasnt ready and wasnt able to captain properly in 2019 and was more of a figurehead, well - that was well known infomally and he kept a better player in Louw on the bench. What does he bring? I just heard he brings a "charisma and a flamboyance to the team" - lol. Every commentator starts talking in weird abstract terms when asked to critique his performance - why? because he's in a fetcher position but he doesnt fetch: its a joke.

    @RicksPhatPharm-vw2lb

    Dom white boere? No it's because Siya has brought feminism, gender and politics into rugby! It's because every white player fights off off sea clubs buying them up for the privalege to play for the Boks! Siya is by far our worst loose forward just like Bongi & Trevor... It's only because transformation is forced down everyone's throats that we carry quotas and undeserving blacks! It's not only South Africa, even over seas clubs don't buy up black talent it doesn't exist. It took New Zealand to loose two forwards for Siya to even score against them, that's how useless he is. Never mind the fact that he is incapable of leading the team and has always needed everyone around him to do so... The colourds come into the squad, get overseas interest and contribute in ways everyone can SEE not so with the black quota token racists! There are 100 players all way better than Siya or any black player, all blacks are doing is as sucking up space and removing already limited opportunities of far better players at club level and test level. Go play soccer, we tired of carrying blacks in our taxes and throughout society!

    I listened to the break down show on Monday. I was disgusted with the AB's pundits in that show how they blame Ref and TMO. They even went on to say that the IRB needs to do something about the game because the Boks are taking the game backwards. We slow the game, how we play its not the great advert of the game. They went on and on discrediting Boks victory against them. My issue with them is that, why they want us to play their style of rugby that works for them? Every sport have tactics, you get that in football as well. For example, if you want to beat Man City you can't play the same style they play. You have to defuse them by blocking their flow and disrupt them by packing the train then you catch on a counter. The AB'S guys don't understand that.

They don't have a set 15 team like the rest, we've got the depth so why not use it and play smart. The off the pitch strategy is as much part of the on the pitch execution and what better than to announce a 7:1 split on match day against the ABs to through them off. Not saying we do another 7:1 jobby, but the principle applies. Shock and Awe, the element of surprise sets the scene.

    Can debate on DDA vs AEsterhuizen, DDA looked a bit lethargic last few matches but he is a quality player, who generally gets the Boks over the gain line. Key thing is that every team know what the Bok centre combo is going to do(With DDA in it). Andre the Giant can throw a pass aswell as bursting through the gain line, so may be useful as a suprise option in a big game. True Andre the Giant has not been tested in a game where the Boks have been on the back foot- so there is that concern. .As for 13-Moodie has to get the slot, he is brings X-Factor(those clips show him doing 2x inside steps which basically gains 40m) traditionally the boks there would have gone wide and be stopped within 20m or turned over.[if u look at the 2 tite games from last year vs Fra and Ireland both lost narrowly, how useful would a try from a moment of Moodie brilliance be in thise situations]- he can make a tight game a 70-80% win. Also any injury to the backs and Moodie should be able to cover both wings and fullbacks if neccessary. Kriel can join Willemse/Willie on the Bench for a 6:2. What Boks have shown of late: They can come back into games from behind. They need the best pack starting - just to soften and demoralise the opposition forwards. The backline can play now. Kicking seems to be sorted.

  • @evanh8749

    @evanh8749

    Some fair points made. Agree Andre is more of an unknown quantum for opposition compared to DDA. But both are good options to have. For 13 I'd still pick Kriel. Still think Moodie should start at 14, think he's been the most dangerous on that wing, especially under the high ball. Otherwise I like that Moodie is now an option at 13 to rest Kriel, or potentially start if required. Definitely agree long term he looks like the Am 13 replacement.

    We have one thing to keep in mind and that is their best scrumming prop Lowmax did get hurt and they were a man down for the balance of the match. Despite these hindrances, we definitely dominated most facets of the game for most of the match, and the bounce of the ball was in our favour on the day alongside our set-piece and defence dominance which stifled the NZ efforts, and kept them out for over 70mins. It was beautiful to get the win, see the humility shown by our boys afterward, which was another respectable closing on the day. NZ always bounce back so I feel for France next week, they will need to play off their feet as there will be a point to prove - they have shown this year in year out!

    I never saw a side leave the field black & blue , totally dismantled like the ABs looked , right in front of the whole World. So much credit must go to our management team , to identify , develop a game plan , around these players.... Ask England, they have a huge amount of players but they just don't have the right management to bring it all together. Rassie and Co have built depth , instead of being applauded for it , some pundits want to move the posts to accommodate their sides failures in this regard......for me , the hiding at Twickenham was planned from with the loss at Ellis Park '22.

    I predict the biggest shock factor in the WC will be the Boks announcing their teams “after the opposition” during match week. This will completely throw the opposition because Boks always announce their team on the Tuesday before the match on a Saturday. Even last Ek they announced their team on the Monday because the match was on Friday. Now they will delay their team announcement and opposition won’t know what to expect: 6:2, 7:1, 8:0 on bench? A bench without a scrum half? Gosh it will cause madness in the opposition camp.

    I like the way Moodie can do no wrong in some jaundiced Bok fans views yet Libbok who has transformed our backline is constantly picked upon. For me Moodie needs to improve his defense whereas Libbok is critical for us in the flthalf berth. Since he came we are scoring a lot more tries and Pollard is not perfect. Missed vital kicks in front of goal and in his last few tests missed a few tackles also
