Well done with the equipment you had, although I appreciate higher image quality as a hobby videographer myself. One can definitively see the difference. Btw, we are coming to Kenya in less than two weeks, starting in Lamu. Looking forward to making some nice footage there as well after having watched your inspiring videos.

Amboseli is quite a spectacular destination

Great memories for me. I visited Amboseli in February 2019. I got great still photo shots and camera videos of Mt. Kilimanjaro! Wonderful experience. The trip to Amboseli in 2019 was the second trip to Kenya for me (first trip was 2017). The 2017 trip to Masai Mara we slept in a Tented camp. That was experience enough for me sleeping in a tent with the laughing hyena sounds and roaring lion sounds in the distance. Our security was the Masai warriors. So on the Amboseli trip we stayed at a lovely resort hotel where the rooms were small bungalows, not tents. Much nicer than sleeping in a cold tent. Still we travelled there in February when the weather was warmer and views of Kilimanjaro were clearer. Thanks for your great vlog! When I return to Kenya I will look forward to visiting vegan restaurants that you have recommended for me.

Sleeping in these tents is actually quite an experience. We did the same in the mara. The sounds of the nature are so peaceful! Very relaxing

Raj, you make the best videos, it proves that you know the best approach :). I had a classmate in high school who had tribal marks on his cheeks, he said the same that it is a marking for the specific tribe that you are from and that he has had the marks placed on him as a child. It was fascinating as another black person, yet displaced from my African roots by slavery, to see that my African brother has a deep knowledge of his heritage because he was not displaced as I was from generations ago. Also, I notice that your audio is always good of course but the other downside to, just using a phone and not the muffler is that the audio does not pick up as well. Whenever I do videos, the audio always seems okay but not stellar as is with yours. I do like the quality that the phone can bring and I love when it is overcast outside simply because image quality always seems to be crisp. I believe the sunlight and moonlight hinders the quality of a shot. Dang, I had a question that I wanted to ask regarding either video editing or the phone itself but I lost my thought!

Amboseli looks amazing. Decent vlog too. But yeah, image stabilisation will make it way better.

I finally made it to Amboseli this year, it truly is a remarkable national park! I was invited to a Maasai manyatta and learned so much about their culture, which even made my safari more enjoyable! I enjoy your vlog very much!

The other peak is called Mawenzi, by the way. Do you know if the snow/ice on top of Kibo fluctuates over time? There was a lot more last year from pictures I've seen.

This is absolutely awesome. The lodge doesn't seem to have doors that can be locked. Is this really the case? What if an animal came through. How secure are the lodgers? Do you get any sleep?

The park is famous for being the best place in the world to get close to free-ranging elephants. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet Maasai and visit a Maasai village. The park also has views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Looks like the phonecam is shaky and unstable. Sound is low quality as well. A professional camera would have been better, especially for capturing Kilimanjaro's beautiful scenery.

Still the vlog was awesome all round .Guess it comes down to the person and passion. Equipment is just an accessory.

Hey Raj. Do you tip the driver/guide? And if yes, how much are we talking? Are you expected to do it daily? I prefer to travel solo but I'm pretty awkward with things like this.

I tip my guide depending on how friendly and helpful he is. Ideally, it's a calculation of how many days and how many people. As a solo traveler, I would tip anywhere from $5 per day onward. I could be wrong too. Tipping is a little bit of an awkward discussion. So I always do it via Mpesa and don't discuss an exact figure.
