I find East Africans to be very polite even when they don't use the word "please". It's the way they ask for something or their tone and body language that speaks politeness.

As always Ashley, you conduct an good interview! I was a little taken aback when you paint an area with a broad brush, example, I am from Long Island, NY, not all of NY is the same. I l live in DC proper, and people from DC will tell you that Virginia is very different from DC. Keep up your journey of growth, regards, Ms. Parker

Great interview Brittney. Am so glad you notice the big difference between West Africa and East Africa. East Africans have so much in common with Southern Africans, coming from a South African, I realized that their languages sound so similar to Southern African languages for example, Setswana, Zulu and Swahili but just how East Africans are, I simple can not differentiate them with Southern Africans but I can tell West Africans from South Africans simply by behavior.

South African bantus have common ancestry with east African bantus before moving south...you are correct about the languages there's a lot of shared words in some east and south African languages
@gedenironald8635
2 жыл бұрын
@@Brian-bo4bz I agree with most of the things you said. Corrections though, there are no tribes or race of people called " Bantu", the people you refer to as " Bantu" are indigenous in every part of Africa and don't have a single place of origin and no scholar can prove the " Bantu" place of origin other than the lies with no scientific physical evidence. " Bantu" is a hypothesis introduced to us by a far right Nazi white man called Wilhelm Bleek, his theory was simply based on language similarities. You could say the same about Indians or Native Americans whose languages are similar to that of European man. Oh by the way, there are no language similarities between West Africans and the Xhosa, Batswana or Zulu tribes of Southern African but you would find so much similarities between East African tribes and Southern African tribe. Lastly, I did my DNA and I am only 3% West African but I am mostly Southern African and about 30% East African and I consider myself Zulu.
@Brian-bo4bz
2 жыл бұрын
@@gedenironald8635 by bantu I didn't mean a race I meant people speaking languages classified as "bantu languages"...I just used the term because it is the only descriptive word of the said languages because sadly no African has coined a more appropriate name for the said language groups...and yes bantu languages have a similar structure if I might put it that way...I have heard southern African "bantu" grouped people and notice some similarities with east African languages and even shared vocabulary here and there like I heard a southern African calling a snake "nyoka" and thats what it's called in Swahili or "nyama" for meat...I heard the word "bantu" came from what these language group speaking peoples call people e.g abantu...and you are correct east Africans too don't share anything with west Africans linguistically...I myself am luhya which are classified as "bantu" but my sub tribe was originally kalenjin who are "Nilotic" and were assimilated into luhya "bantu" culture so I do agree with you there is no race called bantu it's the language family and by "bantus" I was referring to people who speak a language that falls in this category...in Kenya we have Nilotic and cushitic speakers and those languages are not similar at all even structure wise in terms of tenses, pronouns and prefixes compared to "bantu languages"...isizulu would sound more familiar to me than say Amharic despite Kenya sharing a border with Ethiopia and the distance from south Africa
