15K is nothing. I was once hit with a 75K tax bill. My advice to Kenya is go to the IRS meeting with boxes of receipts and look around and see all the other people there with boxes of receipts. Plan to be there all day and cry the blues. The IRS will negotiate and settle and you can easily turn a 75K tax bill into 35K or a 15K bill into 3500.

People are human, and to err is human. In Kenya‘s case it could be an oversight. She is not like a typical employee with one source of income. This bill could mean anything, payroll tax as she just opened her salon, excise tax, gift tax, dividend tax… Perhaps she used investment gains to sponsor her salon. This tax bill may even be reduced provided she omitted a tax credit. I hope she will be ok. Whilst I’m not keen on her behaviour I certainly don’t want to see a woman suffer financially.

I think so too. I live 10 minutes from the salon and walk my dog in the area most of the time and it’s always empty. I have to pass it frequently to get to certain places. (MARTA, Walmart, etc. is over that way)

That Karma Bus is taking people out in 2024. I’ve heard that Kenya is a really lovely person in her everyday relationships. However, on set, whew, she has dragged a soul or two for their financial woes. When we set a trap for others, don’t be surprised if you get caught in your own snare. She has a beautiful family and I hope that this situation brings clarity, humility, and wisdom. I miss the old days of RHOA. I feel like those ladies had genuine friendships and the stories were organic. Let’s face it, when NeNe left, the show was never the same. We got to watch her evolution from housewife to legit stardom because she worked her behind off and didn’t waste the opportunity. I think that when we were in quarantine, the clock was reset in regard to our expectations for reality TV. We all are struggling in this economy and the scripted drama is exhausting and unnecessary because we all have our own cross to bear at home. I watch TV as an escape from all of this.
