We have some trucks with apu and some without. If it has emissions it’s gonna give trouble either way. We don’t see any trucks with apu on them in the truck less frequently

Hey brother, quick question, I got a 01 freightliner shaker classic with an n14, I'm looking at the getting 2012 t660 to put a driver in, the truck has a paccar motor 650k miles, what is your opinion on that motor? Is the isx a better buy? What would you say the pros vs cons? Thanks in advance for any advise you may have

George Diaz ok here’s my opinion on them. I had rather have the paccar over the Cummins any day personally. The 2012 paccar engines have been know to have emissions issues. I’m not a fan of Cummins simply because of the life span of the engines. You don’t have to take my word for it. Just look in the truck paper and you can see most Cummins that’s for sale will have between 500k-700k and will say “recent inframe” so that will prove that point. The paccar engines in the 600-700k range is the time when most of the emissions issues always seem to strike and will have to replace some of the components. If you are willing to delete the paccar then you won’t have any trouble out of those motors at all. They are amazing engines when deleted. As far as the truck itself goes the t660 is a good truck and parts are readily available for them. There’s a few parts that are still proprietary and you will have to get them from a paccar dealer (kenworth or peterbilt) but most are available thru Napa and truck pro. The only problem child other than emissions is the fan clutch and there is a quick connect on the side of the engine on driver side that will leak. If you decide to go with paccar you can look at my video “common issues with paccar” and you will see it. Good side to that is both can be fixed yourself if you have any mechanical want to they aren’t hard and I will be having a video out soon on the fan clutch so .... I will walk you through those. I like paccar engines there’s plenty of people that don’t but we have figured out plenty of tricks and stuff on them and they seem to be really reliable motors. I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me. You can get my email off my website and all my contact info if you have more questions. www.koontrucking.com thanks for watching.

Bruce Truong you are a damn fool. What makes you think that? I’ve owned them. I work on them and own a shop ?

Bruce Truong why don’t you stick to “sailing, and fixing boat motors and teaching people how to work a cruise control on a Honda Civic” and let the people that actually know about trucks and class 8 engines and emissions keep doing what they do ?
