Long gone are the days of American made greatness. The best you can do now is 75% American made, and 50% less reliable. Thanks to profit being more important than quality.

Mr Jessup still owns that Red/White show truck among other antique trucks he's owned. I usually see him running his Autocar, that's his favorite everyday work truck. Jessup trucking has been closed since the 1990's but his farming operation in Greene County, Indiana is still running. Hang out around the co-op down in Vincennes, Indiana during harvest time and you're bound to see either this bullnose KW or the Autocar. Mr Jessup is well into his years but last I heard he still works everyday.

Drool, Drool, Drool! Beautiful trucks. It's nice how those with the additional sleepers still look awesome! A lot of times when sleepers are put on older truck designs they detract from the original good looks of the truck. Not so for a few of the trucks seen here.

Really classic beautiful design of the 523, much finer than the newer cab forward models. Wonder why they haven't come up with a modern 'retro' 523 cab yet? Must have been a majestic sight on the roads in the 50's

LONG LIVE THE BULLNOSE KENWORTH!

The Kenworth bullnose is such a good looking classic truck. It just looks tough. I feel good just looking at one. It was way ahead of its time when it was built. I would love to have one. Dale Jessup's bullnose is known by truckers from coast to coast.

Iam a Peterbilt man but do like the bullnose KWs. Seen a few at ATHS truck shows. The Maroon one with the Chushman scooter in the small box on the back is owned by a man in Oklahoma. I remember seeing it before he restored it in the late 90s. It was a fade olive green looks way better now. Maybe I missed it but there was a famous black and red one I think it was Strawberry or some name like that. Saw it at National ATHS in KS. Thanks for putting all these photos in one place.

Dale Jessup's old bullnose is a looker(every one of his old trucks were good-looking units).....seen reference to the old A-car he kept as well when he sold out to Blaschke(in late 2000/early 2001.....I actually worked a bit on his A-car when it was up in town at the Cummins shop before I started driving myself). All of his then-later-model T-800's were well-equipped and in excellent conditon.

I would bet that if the PACCAR corporation were to introduce a NEW cabover design by using the "bullnose" design, I believe that they would set the trucking industry on its ear and make BILLIONS.....Great Video!

Or just like they make 379's and such with the same styling as they did years ago, they could make these trucks with the old school style as well. And only have modern luxuries

well..from an European/UK standpoint..ALL American trucks are retro right up to what I've seen on u-tube billed as 2014 models. The question is..why are all American trucks built in this retro style..??
