Kenwood TS 450S was made in the 1990's. I was using a friend's TS 450S to see how it sounded. Couldn't believe Italy was coming in so strong on 40 meters.

@@RichRodgersOnline I do lovr it and when I can buy a new rig it will again be a kenwood 590sg I just need a better antenna then the g5rv jr haha.

450S is a great Rig if you see one for a good price get it
That's Roberto, I2VRN. You can find him almost every evening on 40m. Always has a fantastic signal.

I have worked him before he must have some station cause I don't have much of an antenna up for 40m 5/9+ into Yellowknife NT and he received me 5/9 VE8AP

@@billcameron Roberto runs an older Kenwood 870 with an amp into a home made yagi. Im not sure how high he is but Im sure he is in high elevation there in Milan.

Robert, Thank you for watching the video. I can not take it mobile the radio was a friends' he just loaned it to me, I thought it was a good radio!
would be this HF good for beginner? im still working on my license and would like to get decent Hf that doesnt cost arm&leg.

What causes the receive to drop off 15 to 20 Db ? Takes a while for the radio to recover.
