Me too comedy classic first time i saw this movie on dvd in 2008 from my library rented it at the time i was 24 years old😌

The part where he misses his kick and says "shit!" is one of my favorite parts, one reason being that it is probably the most realistic part of any fight scene in a movie, lol.

I think "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist" would be an appropriate follow-up to "A Fistful of Yen".

I loved Matthew's reactions to The Kentucky Fried Movie, but hands down, Emily's reactions were SO much fun to watch and her giggles are just delightful. And Emily's reactions to certain, on screen body parts, are fabulous. Now, you both MUST see Enter The Dragon, with the legend Bruce Lee.

The thing is: I first saw "Enter The Dragon" more than 15 years after "Kentucky Fried Movie". And I had to laugh through much of the movie. I just couldn't take it serious anymore!

Any time I see a parody of an iconic Martial Arts film, I'm in heaven and really, you can't get more iconic than Enter The Dragon. Thank You.

He has great "in jokes" in his movies. My fave is how the coda on Animal House says Niedermeyer went to Vietnam and was killed by his own troops, then in the Vietnam war section of Twilight Zone: The Movie, a soldier says: "I told you we shouldn't have shot Lt Niedermeyer!" And how Stephen Bishop is always credited as "Charming Guy", but is listed in Twilight Zone as "Charming G.I."

I think I know where Landis got "See You Next Wednesday". I recently watched "2001: A Space Odyssey" and you could have knocked me over with a feather when Dr. Heywood Floyd said it to his daughter via video phone from the orbital space station. I've seen the movie many times and had it in my personal DVD collection since the summer of '98 but I never noticed that before. If you want a great Kung Fu comedy, you should add Kung Pow: Enter the Fist to your list. They took an old kung Fu movie, then dubbed over it an added other stuff to it with a current day actor. It's ridiculously fun!

Never thought I'd see this being reacted to on KZread, good for you! I had those same "distinct" memories of this movie back when I had it on VHS lol. I definitely think 'Enter The Dragon' should be on the list, and maybe even 'Kung Fu Hustle' for a bit of fun.

I know this is an edited highlights version, but there are so many jokes in this movie. I loved the cinema with the sensory surround feature.

Oh man I remember watching this back when I was a kid in the early 80's on VHS.

My favorite line out of this whole movie is..."Take him to detroit. NO, NOT DETROIT!". I happen to live near detroit. Lol

oh my god! that transition for the ad got me..lol anyway, kentucky fried movie is one of my favorite screwball comedies.. the amount of 'body parts' shown I knew will make Emily giggle.

Haha.Im 57 and there was a time when Drive Ins were THE BEST.Watch shows like this and you can kick back and do what you want.THIS movie was one to watch at a drive in.Just plain stupid humor is THE BEST.

If you watch a collection of 1970s exploitation movie trailers, you'll quickly see that "Catholic High School Girls in Trouble" was right on the mark. Roger Corman's New World Pictures was delivering drive-in classics like "The Big Doll House" and "The Student Nurses," which managed to squeak by with an R rating but were nevertheless designed with one purpose in mind.

All time best Kung Fu was made between the late 70's - Mid 80's. "Chinese Super Ninjas aka 5 element Ninjas," "The Kid with the Golden Arm," "Crippled Avengers," "The Five Deadly Venoms," "Flag of Iron,"

I loved Kung Fu Hustle, not for the sheer insanity but every time I see the fat, smoking landlady run, I weep like a Mormon on crack with laughter.

That "Christ...did a cow shit in here?" line got the BIGGEST laugh when I originally saw this in 1977.

That segue into the sponsor was cheesy as all get out...I loved it lol 😆

The bad guy in "Fist Dull of Yen" Mr. Han is an actual Martial Artist Master Bong Soon Hong.

I was in high school when this came out. Saw it in the theater with my best friend and the two young ladies that were our dates. The ladies went to the Catholic High School of Baltimore... Needless to say, things were a little "different" for the rest of the movie/evening. So, I also remember that portion of the movie QUITE well. LOL

Not a comedy, but a sci-fi classic for the 70's for the list: Soylent Green

I never knew this movie existed and I just watch it when finish this vid. God that was a funny movie.

I first saw this movie at my fifteenth birthday party, a sleepover with my best friends. Picture three girls going into ninth grade in three months, laughing hysterically, that was a GREAT party. I've loved this movie ever since!

Hubby and I remember $1.25 for a small box cuz we’re old af.

I thought I was the only person who remembered this movie, I actually took a date to the drive in to see this when I was 17, now you might have to do Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

For classic kung fu movies, definitely watch Jackie Chan's Drunken Master 2 (aka The Legend of Drunken Master) and Jet Li's Fist of Legend (remake of Fist of Fury). Both came out in 1994. The original 1978 Drunken Master is fine, but it barely connects w/ the sequel.

One of the funniest movies very few people have seen much less heard of. Thanks a bunch for reacting to this comedic gem!

An oddball crazy fun fest of a film. Zucker and zucker. Can't hold a candle.

The Villain in a "Fist Full Of Yen" was a grand master of Hapkido a Korean martial art.

A bit of trivia - according to the DVD commentary, the dialogue scene in 'A Fistfull of Yen' where they're uncovering the hidden microphone's is comprised almost entirely of former President Richard Nixon's secret White House recordings from inside the Oval Office.

"A TOY ROBOT!"

Another Fun (but odd) Fact: in the fight scene in Fistful of Yen when Loo takes down Bulkus and Bulkus gets up, you see Loo mouth, “What the f**k?” Wesley Snipes paid homage to that in the climatic fight scene in the first Blade movie.

We laughed our butts of seeing the Radio Shack firemans helmets on the "alarms". I hated selling those things.

16:22 is one of the funniest things i've ever seen in film history. I remember pulling a stomach muscle laughing so hard at the human alarm guy.

The news segment where the couple is getting it on has the producers, Jerry & David Zuckerman and Jim Abrams as the technicians crowding out the news reader to check out the couples action.

I know at least two others have said it, but you absolutely need to watch Bruce Lee's "Enter The Dragon" to see how they came up with almost all the jokes in "Fistful of Yen".

My favorite part of that movie is when Dr Claw brings in the prisoner to be tortured but he yells he'll never talk and then Dr Claw tells his henchmen to take him to Detroit. The prisoner freaks out and tells him he'll talk.

This movie is actually on a higher level than "Top Secret".

Not a completely fair comparison. KFM is straight up sketch comedy. TS had to keep a cohesive storyline going, and still managed to be a rollercoaster of jokes. I don't know if I would rate either as better or worse than the other.

Sad to see Zinc Oxide and You ended up cut. That had me howling the first time I saw this in high school. Damn I'm old.

Now I know why my teenage sons loved this movie !!!

Here's an interesting point. In every John Landis film, whenever you see the title for "See You Next Wednesday", it appears as an😢 ongoing gag or Easter egg, it appears in this film, The blues Brothers, trading places, etc. he also puts a gorilla in some of his films, but the man in the gorilla suit in this movie is a Academy award-winning makeup artist, Rick Baker.

The finest comedy ever made , it was the first film that started ideas like Police academy,airplane , Dracula,Dead n loving it etc .it's still the best .But no way would this ever be released , esp REX CRAMER
