Neosonic97 Stands aren't just invisible man. U literally can't harm them if u don't use another stand (general rule, there are some exception; but Jotaro's Stand is not one of them). Kenshiro wouldn't have a chance cause he wouldn't even KNOW being actually attacked and, anyway, would be NEVER able to get in range against a guy that can just stop time and melt him.

It really says something about the tenor of this series that towards the end of the Southern Cross arc, Shin's gigantic army is attacking Kenshiro with construction vehicles, flamethrowers, helicopters, a giant artillery cannon and of course A TANK, and yet they STILL come across as absurdly overconfident when facing him to the point where the viewer is encouraged to mock them as idiots for thinking their heavy weaponry gives them a chance to win. That's the real genius of Hokuto no Ken and why Kenshiro's simplistic over-the-top "lolbadass" persona works *so well*. It's not about how Ken himself acts, the comedy and the catharsis comes in how the endless henchmen react to him. All those mohawk dudes spending all their screentime exploding gruesomely in silhouette and getting slaughtered with their own weapons are the real stars of this anime.

I guess a lot of people either ignore this fact or don't pay attention to the instances where this happens but it is clearly explained the majority of the foes Kenshiro has to fight are overlorded by ruthlessness and a supreme rule that to run from an enemy results in demotion, humiliation or even worse consequence. Some of the deadliest real warriors in the series even refuse to run from impending curb-stomp battles (Rei and Shachi and even Kenshiro himself). This goes double ditto in the second part of the story in the Land of Shura, where it is shown at least a dozen times, very graphically in the manga, that the only option for Shura warriors is to fight. Flight is not an option. Flight equates to immediate death by a superior. Falco, one of the more respectable warriors in the Shura arc outright killed two officers for attempting to flee from a city Kenshiro, Bat and Rin took over even though they were directly under his command and he had only JUST been introduced in the story.

Any notion of rivalry between the two creatures immediately evaporates. Even though Hokuto works mainly with Pressurepoints and Meridiams of the opponents' bodies... It also relies on the user's fighting aura... If you do not believe me, watch Toki vs Raoh fight (I watched an OVA, but regardless, the theory still works) Ken destroyed the Tank with his spiritual energy, a.k.a aura... By overloading its systems, punishing the tank, and TONS OF MANLINESS!

Also, Kenshiro and many of the most powerful martial artists in the show hit REALLY hard. I don't remember if it was show or game only, but when Souzer claims to Raoh that his body is immune to Hokuto Shinken, Raoh just angrily responds by threatening to kill him with powerful blows outright... Also, a friendly reminder, but Kenshiro casually walked through a building that was falling down on him. o3o

to add, I'm studying mechanical engineering and in design courses we kind of take care of just a small slice of an entire element (or a few of them) as those parts are critical and the rest can just be loaded with ease as long as the critical section doesn't fail. In short terms, i'd say that hitting riveted areas perpendicularly (causing tearing), or hitting a thinner part in the body, etc. would easily cause failure when you are a man like Kenshiro being able to break stone and stuff like that. The only issue is that tanks are designed to have a minimum amount of critical sections so that they don't fail easily (well that's my intuition at least) so Kenshiro would have to work a lot on the joints to be able to destroy the tank. But yeah, it's his area of mastery, finding critical sections on a body anyway. Don't really know about the aura business, but considering his other abilities, it is doable. *My only concern is however, how is he not getting damaged by the recoil? If he is able to deliver a punch strong enough to crush a tank's hull, then his hands should get (somehow) equally crushed*

For those saying a tank doesn't have pressure points, keep in mind, when metal is forged, the process isn't perfect. It can leave air pockets, thin points, brittle sections. The tank could also have had minute errors in the construction that constitute enough of a fault for the technique to pinpoint and take advantage of.

@@edwardgaines6561 Like I said before age and structural weaknesses can prove to be a tank's downfall. The Sherman might've been in service longer than the Chi-Ha shown in here, and was in service until 1957 in the U.S. alone, which I would think was when the last Sherman was produced. But it'd still be old and obsolete by the time HnK happened, so I doubt it'd be in ideal working condition. Also, what I forgot to mention was that this takes place after a Nuclear War, so I'm not sure radiation has affected the tank's performance in any way shape or form. Forget the jacket or shirt, you ever notice his shoulder armor? The pads break every other time a fight starts, like all his upper body attire, but when the next part begins and his outfit is intact, he's wearing noticeably different shoulder pads. He legit keeps breaking them and getting new ones. And they get better and better each time too. At the start of the series, they're boring and look like they're made of tin or aluminum. By the end, they're gold-plated and encrusted with jewels. They break too. He gets a bigger pair. Makes no sense, but I love how the artist paid it that much attention.

To the tank's credit it was a WW2 model and it took a lot ATATATATATA to get it destroyed.

"I hit your tanks hidden power point of frontal lower plate. You are already dead!"

This is why DIO picked a road roller instead of a tank

theoretically the tank could have had imperfections in its armor and kenshiro could have sparked a fire from breaking the electrical systems do to the blunt force of his punches, that in turn could have detonated the fuel tanks then ammo reserves. which would explain why it took a couple of seconds for the thing to explode instead of an instant explosion as if hit by an anti tank gun.

To be fair, it's a Japanese tank. They were known to be disabled by rifle fire, molotov cocktails, and even rocks lodged below the turret ring. Blowing it up with fists doesn't seem so unreasonable then.

The American army got around them by dropping bombs on them from the air. ....and by making so many crappy Sherman tanks that there was just too many for the germans to blow up

Uh, this was like a warm-up for him. Episode after this one, Kenshiro fights a BATTLESHIP. Granted, it was mostly buried... but still, it did try to bombard him with artillery like crazy. He still got in and wasted everyone on board it, though.

And thus the Street Fighter Bonus Round was born!

He doesn't even look back at the explosion, Ken is a real man

I can buy in to the whole super-powered martial arts technique making Ken pretty much invincible and able to beat the shit out of a tank, that's chill. But the fuck does he get all of his shirts? He goes through like three an episode and he's in a wasteland. What gives?

Actually he sews them back together himself. I'm not kidding...well maybe not every time. That is a good question but in the episode, if I remember right, following the death of Shin you see him sitting down sewing his shirt.

Well to be fair that tank was a Type 97 Chi Ha. Shinhoto, but still a chi-ha. Chi-Ha tanks were basically light (even though they were techically "medium") tanks that blew up if you as so much farted in their general direction. Now if it was a T-34 or a Panther on the other hand...

No, literally, after he breaks a pair and his outfit is intact again later, it's a different pair. And they get better and better too. Hokuto Shinken is so perfect that when it was made in the year X BC it had mastered the pressure points of a modern day tank.
