English voice actor did the yell better imo. Altho this is also good.

Probably my favorite scene in the entire series. The fact kenshin was about to absolutely destroy cho without even knowing that he was actually wielding a reverse blade sword was nuts. You could tell how much it got to him as he was shaking with emotion. I miss this kinda stuff in anime.

@@nintendoswitch3709 I think he's trying to say the PTSD kicked in, hence the extreme switch/emotion. That's why they had it set up where Cho says "I'll give you a reminder...".

I swear this scene is too epic for words. Its almost as if kenshin forcefully dragged the battousai personality to the surface to protect inori. In that heated moment he wanted to protect inori but in his mind, (doesnt know about the reverse blade) his only option was to kill cho. So he called on the battousai.

This is the very reason why his master was ready to kill him when he had failed to understand the reason behind learning the final attack. Ken gets lucky here because the sword was reversed otherwise he would have killed Cho and who knows what becomes of him after that. Personally I never bought into the idea that he would completely fall back to being a manslayer but he would have been miserable for the rest of what probably would have been a short life.

@@Aryon1969 he definitely would've went on to shishio with saito killing everyone and possibly dying to shishio, if he won against shishio then his master would've handled him after.

You've got to admit, Kenshin is cooler when his eyes reflect his change into his Battousai persona. I mean look how piercing his stare is.

So many years and I still see this moment. Kenshin struggles daily not to become a Battousai and even at one point his mind is in conflict and the scream shows that battle. That living duality in Kenshin couldn't be better described in this scene. Powerfull

just stopping by for my yearly dose of kenshin before the year ends.

This scene is one of my favorites. The power of Kenshin going full Hitokiri (he don't know that the Sword he has in his hands is a Sakabato) tell a lot of how he was determite to sacrifice for that child. I can't wait to see this epic scene in the Remake coming next year.

breathtaking scene, the best anime ever

One of the best moments of this legendary anime. Kenshin was ready to kill again.

Plot twist to alternate story : Kenshin thinking it was a regular katana instinctively reversed the sword hoping to hit with the dull edge and ended up cutting Cho open. He returned to battosai mode again. Slay Aoshi in less than a minute without prolem. Defeat Sojiro but with injuries. Fight with Shisio also ended with decapitated corpse but Kenshin was mortally wounded only to be saved by Sano. In the end they parted ways and Kenshin hid in the forest become a monk until his death.

Just saw this few days ago and it was the hypest shit I ever saw in a while

For me, this is the scene that took this anime from great to legendary. They did this part so well. The tension, the buildup, the payoff, the character development it's all here.

If his voice actor went from a high to low tone, like how Masako’s voice did for Goku going Super Saiyan, that would make it an 11/10!

I know, a new versrion of the original series came up but I am pretty sure it wont be the same , sountrack and environment of the original one are by far the best!

I really love this scene, the live action is hella amazing too!

I find it strange how most people in the comments are talking about how cool Kenshin looks when he "turns back into Battousai" and what a badass he is as a hitokiri and so on yet all I can think about is how sad the whole scene actually is. Like yes of course Kenshin's kinda OP when he lets go and it leads to awesome fights and whatnot but you're missing the point of the whole series which is his personal struggle of trying to move on from the terrible crimes he committed many years before. Every time Battousai takes over, Kenshin loses. This is an amazing scene because we get to see a badass fight, but in a deeper way because it shows to a great extent the actual fight of the whole series which happens inside Kenshin's mind and heart.

I was in tears and shocked when I saw this as a kid.

The scream of Kenshin Himura is much like the voice of Edward Elric. Truly, the battle roar is using his agile, quickness and more reflex to defeat that Cho guy was not dead and not getting killed.

That look on Kenshins face just before he struck was flawless

Seeing Mitsuri's blade from Demon Slayer brought me back here! Cho's urumi sword actually shocked me when I first saw it! Like swords can bend like that??? And Kenshin's roars were so chilling!

Cho was wrong, Kenshin did never enjoy the slaying his enemies,the whole kill that he done was for duty(justice according him),in fact he hate it and he almost lost his sense of taste when he try to sip a bit sake before he met Tomoe.

Damn; Kenshin is something else... Battosai the Manslayer.

Prefer the english dubs but that being said....this was & still is the greatest anime series in history. The setting, the stories, the characters, the sword play/power displays, the fight scenes, breakdown of those fight scenes by both the characters involved & the on-lookers witnessing, the soundtrack, animation....classic legendary stuff

I'm very happy and can't wait for the remake of this legendary anime but his voice thoo they make it so manly whyyy

Those “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” hit me hard.

This show is badically "antagonists fuck about and find out"

When youre max leveled in dungeon 1 and that one lvl 1 goblin somehow managed to snatch a super rare item you carried

Same here. The live action chooses different art form. They portray the character as peak human (or enhanced in some occassion) while the anime they're superhuman with super soldier serum-like effect and sword with adamantium blades.

This is why Kenshin would've never been able to use the Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki with a normal katana, since if he decides to use it, he will turn into Battousai, therefore the technique doesn't work.

When this first aired, if your pores didn't raise when he finally snapped you weren't an anime fan

If only kenshin didnt stopped training, he couldve been the strongest and most likely could rival his master.

If he didnt stop training, he won't be rurounin with that reversed blade. Of course his teacher will be dead too because fate of Hitten Mitsurugi Ryu, after teaching Amakakeru Ryuu no Hirameki, the teacher or the student will be dead.
