@@LKTVLKTV hey if you think he's "not human" he does have a connective tissue disease (which for some can be very debilitating) but he's also autistic... to me it seems super human and a super power..but he's been doing music, and animation since he's 10. He also understands something very spooky that very few get in perspective to the history.. especially when in Loser, he understands the dark issues of self deletion.. as with Ian Curtis and Curt Cobain.. also he drew all those animations in Eine Klein

@@LKTVLKTV I also noticed that on Peace Sign, with the lyrics.. it could easily have been a Buzzcocks, Pete Shelley, song.. the red line running through many of today's musicians from Japan seem to a progress of what happened if the 80s guitar progressive punk pop continued.. definately with the constant use of Fender guitars (straticasters and telecasters and more filling out of music such as strings..and piano)

You're right he's insanely talented. I recommend "Umi no Yuurei", "Orion", and "M87" (tho honestly I love everything by him, these are the ones that really got me in the feels) I'll be happy if you listen to some of his vocaloid stuff too. It takes getting used to, but vocaloid music has a certain vibe that real human singers don't, and it has it's own charm. Personally I really like "Donut Hole" and "Suna no Wakusei" (he has a self-cover version where he sings Suna no Wakusei with his own voice)

Lemon is based on Lemon Lamentations. Lemon Lament is a poem about the sorrow of losing one's own wife. Yonezu lost his grandfather before writing this song. He wrote this song for his grandfather.

@@cry9438 Thank you for your interest in the Japanese people.I'm happy. It was his grandfather who passed away.He loved his grandfather. He died of pancreatic cancer. My guess is that they made a mistake in the translation. おじいさん is mean grandfather. おじさん is mean uncle. Japanese is so difficult!!

My favorite is "海の幽霊-Spirit of the sea"!! That video is freaking beautiful and breathtaking. You can not miss it😉

You need listen to his album Stray Sheep, is So unique Umi no yuurei(spirits of the sea),Flamingo(he danced in this too) and Paprika is some of my favorite(the rest of the album is good to).Every song sound so different from each other.

The first time I listened to his music, I immediately fall in love with him. I've become such a fan for him that I listened to all of his album from his HACHI days until Kenshi Yonezu days. And I love all of his music, every album have really good songs that you can enjoy. He's such a complete artist. There's like an album preview for each albums that he have, so like there'll be a clip of every song in each album in that video. And that's actually one of the way to discover a lot of his MVless songs. His singles are also great. Just like his albums.

About "lemon". When I first heard this song, I thought it might have been inspired by the story of a Japanese Meiji era artist Kotaro Takamura(1883-1956) and his wife Chieko(1914-1938). Kotaro was a poet, a sculptor, a painter, and many other artists, but while his wife was aiming to become an artist, she became mentally ill due to the pressure from her husband's talent, and Kotaro went mad and weakened. While watching over her, he wrote a poem about her appearance. I feel Kotaro's words in the content of the lyrics "Lemon". Although my interpretation may be wrong.

He said in interview that Lemon is made for a tv drama called 'unnatural', a drama about death. But while working on the song, unfortunately his uncle died, and the song was dedicated to his late uncle.

his voice is so incredible, like it has a certain quality that has me completely in love with it; it is so soft but can be so hard/crunchy and just sticks out beyond the instrumentals when I first discovered him I just *knew* i found a new favourite artist, same as I did with fujii kaze not too long ago. which i find really interesting because i feel like their voices are very similar in how they feel to me, they both have that show-stopping quality imo also to me he is an absolute no-skip artist, like he *does not* miss

Kenshi Yonezu really is a genius who can't make a single bad song. I recommend Uma to Shika and Pale blue for delicious key changes, Umi no yuurei for beautiful arrangement, vocals and mv, as well as Kanden, Shinigami and flamingo which are all total bops

I heard of Kenshi bcoz of 'Lemon' ... Saw it in some anime edit on KZread and loved that song ! Watched the song and searched for more of his songs and 'Loser' became an instant favourite too !

I fell in love with Kenshi's music so much more than I ever thought I would. And I agree, my ears thrive off of unique artists. My curiosity was piqued with Peace Sign (opening song for My Hero Academia), and I got hooked after Flamingo. For some reason when I see him in PV's he really reminds me of a real-life L (Death Note). Definitely continue checking out his music, it's a real treat!

I CLICKED SO FUCKING FAST THIS IS ALL I EVER WANTED Edit: absolutely recommend checking out “Pop Song” and “Flamingo” if you want a wild ride, or “Pale Blue” if you want to cry. Basically the two ends of the Yonezu Kenshi scale. His album Stray Sheep is straight up my favourite album of all time and I highly recommend it

since I do not speak nor do I read Japanese I just want to recomend to you this band and how I was introduced to them: ゲスの極み乙女「丸」Best track

Him being extremely talented in everything probably has to do something with him being in the autism spectrum. (He was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism in 2011). And the bone breaking thing in the Loser MV caught my attention too years ago, I did a little research and was saddened to find out that he was also diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome (it affects the connective tissues that hold your body together; also affects other organs incl. heart, BONES, TENDONS, CARTILAGE, eyes etc.;may also cause the patient to be abnormally tall, and having long and slender limbs)
