I am 38yrs and these songs cut real deep. Such powerful, poignant childhood memories attached to these classics and they fill you with a real sense of comfort every time you listen to them 😊 When I was young, my mother always reminded me how I share the same birthday with Kenny Rogers.

I was like 10 or so when I found this LP in my big brother's collection of fascinanting music collection... Learned sooo many songs from Police, Peter Gabriel, Chicago etc... And Kenny... Fell in love with the lyrics and the feeling... 30 years later I still know this song by heart... SO beautiful still.. Nothing changed. ❤️

Their voices are spectacular together… sheena has a beautiful voice wow amazingly done song

On March 31, 2007, I went out on a first date with the most wonderful woman ever. We shared our first kiss, which made it April Fool's Day. I sang this entire song to her, very badly, asking her to stay with me. She said that there would be a day she'd never leave. Eventually, we were married. Just nine days later, my love lost her life to multiple sclerosis and mental illness. I was 24 then and 40 now. Every time I hear this song, I am taken back to that very first kiss and to my angel looking up and whispering, "There, was that so hard?"

in 1983 I picked up a cassette that had a collection of Kenny's Songs and when i heard this one..i fell for this. Wonderful out of the world performance filled with emotion . Its made on a different level...its a very deep meaningful song and kenny and Sheena has made it a one to remember and it touch the hearts of anyone who hears it.

Very rarely in my opinion is a remake of a song just as good as the original. This version and Bob Segar’s are both wonderful.

Great song, Kenny Rogers & Sheena Easton, their voices match up beautifully and she was just a wonderful songstress, I wish she was acknowledged more for her talent. God, I miss the 80's, there will never be such a great time again!!!

When Kenny passed they lost one if the GREATS in Country Music 🎵. I followed him all around the Chicagoland area and into Indiana when he was up on the Chicago area. One of the GREATS of All Time. R.I.H. DEAR KENNY. I'd like to also say that whoever the Young Lady was back in the days of playing at Pheasant Run Dinner Theatre, that jumped in front of my receiving a Tambourine from Kenny ( he motioned that it was for me and my daughter) I hope you've taken good care of it and NOT SOLD IT! Taking from a child is unforgivable. I just HAD to say that because it'll always be in my mind.

I remember seeing Kenny Rogers in concert at the Grand Palace in Branson in the summer of '92. My mother got a tape from the place, called "The Best of Kenny Rogers," and I remember her singing Sheena Easton's part a lot. And sometimes she'd do a solo of both parts. RIP Kenny Rogers.

This is one of those experiences; I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it--a mall in Austin. I once worked at an oil well pipe threading company. One night, a huge forklift got stuck in the mud. They brought in a crane to pull it out. Connecting a heavy chain between them, they began to pull. Suddenly, we heard the chain humming, and we could see it stretch. Everyone ran for cover. A moment later, the chain was shranel bouncing off the building where we were hiding. Sheena's singing reminds me of that night. The tension in her voice on those high notes sounds like something is going to break, but she's rock solid. Worthy of the word "awesome". I want to wade into it even though I know I'm going to bleed. It will be worth it.
