Maybe the reason they have the chestburster coming out of an egg instead of a victim as a gimmick for the playset is because they HAD seen the movie and they thought it would be a bad idea to replicate an alien parasite bursting out of someone's chest in a grotesque and violent way as a toy for children. How Kenner got away with doing toys for Aliens, Predator, Terminator etc. is already awesome enough.

+KRISTIAN OTIS True but they already have the marines formed into the playset which is already creepy. I think if they would have just made it a facehugger instead would have upped the wow factor a bit.

Super Unimportant Reviews I do know what you mean(I never actually seen that detail before in any other review), but from what I understand, they were already fortunate enough to get away with making this toyline even though it was originally meant to tie in for an animated series that never came to be called Operation: Aliens. Though I guess anyone who either grew up with these or just found out about it can be happy enough with what they could get away with instead of what they were limited to like the xenomorphs infecting other life forms and more than likely killing many colonist's in the process.

Since NECA is on a Kenner retro kick lately... maybe we just might get the egg sack for the modern NECA queen.

There's so many variants they need to do like the egg shaped xeno, Praetorian guard, dark alien, white hybrid, electric alien, star faced alien xenoborg and many more

I know throwing the old ooze in there was for laughs, but it would've been more entertaining if you used fresh ooze. It's always good fun to watch these slime toys being fooled around with on camera, as most of us don't really play with slime anymore. Great video anyway XD

I want one of these for my collection soooooo badly!

There are some "special" kind of xenomorphs like the winged xeno and snake xeno so that is the chestburster that cant turn into a xeno so it is a huge chestburster and bites and shortly the thing explodes.

The Alien Queen Playset was $ 25.00 at Toys R' Us when it first came out in the 90s. I know cause the moment I saw the commercial back then I ran to TRU that very same day and I bought it. I still have it too, and I bought my cousin's in 2012 as well as the entire collection he owned of Marines and Aliens.

This set is a MUST HAVE for Alien collectors. Great review. (But next time, don't use 25 year old ooze. You can buy or make your own new ooze very easily.)

Hi. Strange question I know, but what are the dimensions of this set once it’s all put together? I.e. how high is it, how wide and how deep? The depth is of concern to me as I want to put it on a display shelf and these things are expensive now, so want to make sure it fits before I buy it :) seems like a really cool set, less toy-like than the others they made.

Also: “Hand it over!” “No!” “Do it!” “No!” 25 mins later: “dont mind the queen in the background while i try to open this up” “Don’t mind me while i try to stab him!” “Here, i have a solution, poke at it.” “Eeh”

by the way the chestburster from Aliens had arms ☺

5:37 Could it be a molted/molting chest burster? Because in the movie the chest burster molted it's exo skeleton and began growing into the adult xenomorph.

+XENO LEWIS He got it for $75 which is a pretty good price with the box. I have seen them for less but it's usually without the package and might be missing items.

You should go to the dollar store and buy some green slime and make another video of you sliming Woody

You could of just heat up the slime.
