I am an American who loves Ireland but will never set foot again in Kennedys. I love the smell of the natural wool hand knit Irish sweaters and have purchased one on each trip. My physician husband and I stopped by Kennedy's on our last trip. I was wearing one of my older Irish hand knit sweaters and was purchasing one at the counter when the owner and a woman were commenting on how lovely the sweater was that I had on. They said it looked like one of theirs. The man then proceeded to go behind me and pull down the back of the neck of my sweater (he didn't ask if he could) - I am assuming to make sure I hadn't stolen it. He wasn't gentle and certainly wasn't friendly about the whole situation. How embarrassing to have this done in front of the other shoppers. Our Irish friends said we should have call the police but unfortunately when you are in another country you don't expect this treatment. I have purchased my other sweaters from the Aran Islands and Westport. Never again will I purchase a Kennedy sweater.
