Very nice machine. This is the same one I have but the older style and in bisque.

Nifty washer.... That piece on the tub reminds me of a Montgomery Ward/Westinghouse washer from the 60s. I never understood why many Kenmore Elite washers have that design.

I really like it, but I'm out of space I had to move out my second dryer Miele to put this in. Don't know how long I can keep a dryer in the living room without going crazy. Lol

@@dynatrak someone has a Maytag out in Long Island that I really have my eye on, It's an oldie but goody it looks like it's in great shape. It's harvest gold and that's the one that I had back in the day. She only wants 100 bucks for it and says that it works just fine, if I grabbed it, I would have to put it in my shed. I can't put it in my living space.

My grandpa had this machine as well for years and unfortunately had to give it the boot because the timer broke. I’m surprised you were actually able to order a new timer knob for it because he couldn’t find one. If he would have he would have totally fixed it because it was such a great machine.

Thank you so much. I appreciate that, I'm getting another machine tomorrow that I've been wanting for the longest time. It's an old Maytag in harvest gold it reminds me of when my mom had it.

The versatility that you get with knobs, it’s fantastic. The only other watcher that I’ve come across that’s digital that you have that complete versatility is the speed queen TR7 it’s the only one that gives you complete versatility.

I like this one because it had every option that they could possibly put on a direct drive, including all the dispensers some of them don't have that

Yes, I do Robert. I will not get rid of that machine. It's still my favorite machine that's up-to-date. These other ones are all vintage but for a modern machine that TR 7 can't be beat. And I still have the Miele. I won't get rid of that either. Because for a front loader, it's terrific.

Hey. If possible, I'd like to see the default cotton/normal cycle on the Miele washer and dryer.

My favorite speed is heavy duty.

Will weather stripping be an adequate substitute for that missing lid gasket?

@@petermaz701 Perfect! I can't wait to see it looking its finest. For some reason, Whirlpool DD washers took me longer to warm up to. I guess because they're more recent than the ancient Frigidaire Unimatics/Rollermatics🦾.

@@wyzemann exactly and I never grew up with a direct drive. My mother and I always had General Electric and Maytag.

Btw the way, you probably could get more water if you hold the water selector halfway between levels.

Oh, that's an old trick I knew for years already. But I found that this washer fills up high enough that it really doesn't need anymore. Thanks for sharing. I love it.

@@MatthewJames-st5wv that was the very first cycle I did with two packets of washing machine cleaner. I wanted to make sure that that was cleaned through and through. When I first get an a washer, I try every cycle. This one has a very interesting cycle that I haven't seen on any other called "express wash" it only washes for four minutes, but it still does the two spray rinses in the wash cycle and the rinse cycle. I was really happily surprised.

@@petermaz701 Unfortantely that's not going to thoroughly clean the interior. You'll need to remove the wash basket and clean the outer tub. I would also inspect the bottom of the wash basket center post for rust.Removing the cabinet with the dispenser system is a tad more difficult as you have to remove all the hoses first.

@@MatthewJames-st5wv I got rid of my first Kenmore because the outer tub was in such bad shape, I could not get it clean. I opened it up. I took the top off. It was crusted on the crap. This one was laying in the truck of my car in full sunlight and I could see the basket was not dirty so I knew that my treatments would suffice. I believe this was not used very much before it was put into storage.
