This video was extremely helpful in diagnosing what was wrong with my dryer. One thing about this video is the distracting whistling in the background.

I’m not sure the brand, but I would order one from Amazon that has the audio feature so you hear a beep when checking continuity.

I replaced the thermal fuse and it worked but when I went there 30 minutes later it wasn’t working again and the thermal fuse is again not showing that it has signal. It says on your main page that y’all can do live help, how do I do that and how much does it cost? I thoroughly cleaned out all lint and stuff so I don’t understand why it’s overheating

Most videos asked to remove the screws on back to access inside. I removed all the back screws but it would not budge. Then this video showed that for the older models, you need to remove front bottom. After testing for continuity, I found the farthest one inside faulty. Was tempted to do a quick test for a few seconds by bypassing the fuse (Before ordering the part) but chickened out

You are wise👍 Sometimes if you slam the round part of the hi-limit on concrete it will reset.

Is it a fuse after the thermo fuse? This is what is the high limit fuse you refered to, that is what's not working for me.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance it worked for me so far. I smacked it against the concrete basement floor and it reset after the third time. Cleaned out the blower fan tunnel put everything back together and gave it a try.

What is it when your electric dryer( Frigidair DE500ADW5) works as it should and shuts off at the end of the cycle, but the heat is staying on. Checked the heater, is not grounded.

That looks to be the element overheat *thermostat*, not a thermal fuse. Fuses by definition aren't revivable after they blow (the internal circuit contacts melt). Bi-metal thermostats, when working properly, auto-reset when they cool below the trigger temperature. Attempting to forcibly "reset" it by slamming it against a surface isn't a good idea. It has already failed so wouldn't be reliable. There is also a thermal fuse on the element housing. The other thermal cut-off fuse on the blower housing monitors the exhaust air temperature (not the element) and typically makes the dryer go dead when it blows. The element overheat thermostat and fuse only affect the heating element operation, the dryer otherwise still runs.
