You were 💯 about keeping turtles from eating waterlilies. I’ve utilized that method growing lotus in half pickle barrels sunken just to the rim. I also drilled 2” circular holes above the soil level to increase water circulation. Cultivated waterlilies and lotus don’t like very deep water and grow poorly below a couple feet deep. I’m sure the pond builders took that into account with ledges for planting as they need to be fairly marginal around the shallower areas of Kenan’s rec pond. He doesn’t have any waterfowl so it’d work. I’m sure the pond builders took that into consideration and left ledges for planting. 👍🏻

Blake takes good care of his animals. He once made the novice mistake of leaving the first clutch of Wood Duck ducklings in the aviary and they quickly became food for the aquatic turtles. However, Blake learns from his mistakes unlike some other creators.

There are some aspects of aviculture that are very similar to herpticultire and others that are very different. The caiman in Caiman Creek would really limit the types of birds he could keep. Waterfowl and ground dwelling birds wouldn’t be suitable. Most birds would be at risk when they’d come down to drink/bathe. Small, agile birds that are upper canopy dwellers would stand the best chance of surviving although many would fit through the chain link fence. Also, the netting would need to continue to the ground.

Yes, absolutely right, the caiman would wipe out all ground dwelling birds or waterfowl. But there are tons of species to mix together and it doesn't need to be the caiman creek. He could also work out an aviary with just birds, fish and turtles. Since I'm from Belgium I'm unknowing to the exotic species on the legal market in the US. Btw caiman creek would need to much adjustments for it to be able to keep birds, just like you said.

Blake seems like a good dude who cares about his animals. Originally, I thought he was a just KZreadr first ... but watching his channel, he does love his animals first and foremost.

Yeah with me it's the other way around, I started watching him when he first started then it became obvious that it was pretty much animal hoarding for views and then I completely stopped watching and unsubscribed, to each their own but it just feels weird or wrong to me. Ask yourself if it weren't for a KZread channel, views, and money would he originally have and bought all those animals working a regular job and living a normal life, in my opinion 99% chance he wouldn't have.

@@BajatheChickenMan dude his whole family is involved with the well being and care of the animals: when he's editing videos or running errands which Blake does a lot of his mother isn't afraid to go feed the otters(which are the most dangerous of his exotic animals) apart from the casseoires aka the mini ostrich which (can kick and peck you to death btws) but his mother is out there every single day.. and his dad is out there building fence post and fence lines. The girlfriend is going around again when Blake isn't there to personally check on all the animals.. Matt does the same thing when kenan isn't around and off doing an errand or two.. no one of these animals are poorly taken care of ..they seem very robust,fat and healthy.. even the ducks and Roosters are healthy and not in cages Mind you 😞🤔😒☝️

@@jebVlogs556 Kenan's facility looks a lot different and his animals all appear to have adequate space with a concentrated focus on Tortoises. Blake looks like the typical backyard zoo owner buying whatever exotic animal he can and stuffing into a cage. Just because you can doesnt mean you should. But morals aren't laws so you get people like him. And otter's need far more space than that tiny enclosure its not rocket science.

I really gotta get over myself and check out Blake's channel. For whatever reason, in my head, I have him lumped in with the cufaros, bingos, finatics, and raww fishing knuckleheads of the KZread world and he really is more like you. He doesn't just keep animals to get clicks. He clearly loves his collection. That aviary is BANANAS!!!

Hi Kenan! I live in Arizona near tucson. Very arid weather. I had acquired a few breeding pairs of yellow foots. I had to rehome them to someone with a green house. My vet explained to me that their mucus membmembranes were drying up in their nose and made a whistle sound. Unfortunately I can’t keep certain species here just too dry. I do great with leopards though

Glad that you visited Blake. He is a positive influence not like Paul Cuffaro who is under investigation for animals "mysteriously " disappearing on his "farm"..

Sometimes it's hard to watch some of you guys living these dreams because it's a very small percentage of ppl that get to. Many of us gave the dreams, but circumstances past or present, too many laws, priorities and so forth don't allow it. Great to see your vids, but makes it hard to go to office jobs the next day.

The thing that seperates Kenan & Blake from everyone else on KZread is their actual love for all these animals!! What people don't know about Blake is he used to do ALL of this EVERYDAY BEFORE KZread when he got home from work. Yes he has been doing this a long time but does it cause this has always been his passion & he is very serious!! At 12-13 yrs old I was running the streets drinking doing dr*gs at night causing havoc, I was also a product of my environment. Here you have Kenan who is raising his kids around this & Blake who is raising his son in this & I think it's the coolest way to grow up!! You guys have all my support!!! Kenan you & Blake are so alike it isn't funny & I love seeing you 2 geek out together cause you both get so excited about the same things!!! Blake doesn't get nearly the accolades he deserves for what he has done, he not just a young kid doing KZread for the fun, this is something he has immersed his whole life & family into!!

I like these vids but when you watch all the same south Florida KZreadrs and live 20 minutes from Kennan, Caufarro, Tyler, and Stone, they kind of get repetitive.

Not all birds make it to Blake’s spoiled rotten menagerie. I quit following him once he got quails. Yes, mass breeding is vital to keeping your pets fed. But he is an accomplished KZreadr . Doesn’t matter how short their lives are, there’s got to be a way to house them other than in flat wire trays stacked 6 deep with chicks .

Barely watch these channels anymore because of what in my opinion is animal hoarding for views, especially this dudes place. Man I didn't start watching this until I realized Blake kept quails for feeder birds. His set up is so flipping perfect. Good on ya mate keep up the good work. My snakes aren't big enough to order from you yet but when they are ill hit you up. ❤
