Ken Shamrock on The Rock, 50 Cent, Kimbo Slice, Royce Gracie, Don Frye, Steroid Use (Full Interview)

Ойын-сауық

In this full-length interview, UFC pioneer Ken Shamrock (aka The World's Most Dangerous Man) reflects on his rough upbringing as one of the few White kids in the ghetto before his family moved from the state of Georgia to a middle-class neighborhood in Napa, California. From there, he talks about getting into a lot of trouble during his preteens, which included running away at the age of nine and getting stabbed at the age of 10. The legendary MMA fighter then details living in five different group homes before ending up at the Shamrock Boys Home as a teenager. Ken became so close to the owner, Bob, that he changed his last name from Kilpatrick to Shamrock. As the interview continues, he talks about becoming a standout athlete (wrestling & football) in high school. Ken then revisits getting abused by one of his teenage babysitters, which led to him viewing women in a negative light for many years.
Later in the discussion, Ken talks about some of the biggest fights of his career in the UFC, such as his matchups with Dan Severn and his legendary rivalry with Tito Ortiz. He also looks back on his stint with the WWE and the infamous "Montreal Screwjob" involving Vince McMahon and Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Lastly, he shares his thoughts on the controversial ending to his fight with the late Kimbo Slice before explaining the thought process behind his retirement. To hear more, scroll up and press play!

The guy is the pioneer of MMA. The tito thing, and lawsuit with Diana white put a damper on him publicly. If he had the capital, he'd own the UFC. Man came away with nothing from the fighting (relatively) but still takes care of his fighters like his own kids. Just a great fellow all together and not many people show the respect he deserves.

Ken Shamrock is a legend... A Real One!!! From UFC to WWE, his legacy is cemented. Shamrock Vs. Gracie is one of the greatest UFC rivalries of all time, & Shamrock Vs. The Rock (WMXIV), is one of the greatest matches that WWE produced. My dream matches were always Shamrock Vs. Cormier (UFC), & Shamrock Vs. Angle. (WWE) Shamrock should be in the WWE Hall Of Fame. Long overdue & very underrated as an MMA fighter & as a wrestler. Definitely one of the greatest of all time. Dope interview Vlad!!! Keep them coming!!! Salute!!!! 💯👑☘️

Nowadays it’s fallen apart, don’t get me wrong there’s some great talent in wwe nowadays but there will never be another Shamrock,Rock,Stone Cold,HHH, Undertaker,Mankind,Edge and Jericho not to mention the stables of DX, Nation of Domination and The Corporation I can go on and on 😂

This man fought in UFC 1 when he was 30. His MMA career started at 30, which is the pinnacle of a fighters prime. My Nephew is actually named by a close personal friend who fought Ken Shamrock in 2009. It was the fight that ended up with Ken being suspended for steroids'. I am extremely surprised Ken Shamrock was very articulate in this interview after all the damage he took in his late MMA career.

Ken Shamrock ☘️ is an absolute legend. He’ll always be “The Worlds Most Dangerous Man” which was an accurate description. His style of Catch Wrestling aka “Shoot-fighting” was a skill that had been long forgotten, he kept the catch wrestling tradition alive. With the development of folkstyle & freestyle (which came from catch wrestling) the traditional American & British submission wrestling almost disappeared but was thankfully preserved over in Japan where a great American like Ken could continue the tradition. He was an Amazing athlete & competitor who not only became a star in both Japanese & American pro wrestling & combat sports but had an giant impact on combat sports, grappling/wrestling & fighting. He really was the worlds most Dangerous man! 💪🏻 🇺🇸

... He is an absolute legend.. I remember Ken shamrock always being there ever since the sport was in its embryonic stage, and there really were no rules.. I think Ken deserves so much respect just for getting through his youth, and all the shit he went through... All that and then going on to make a successful living as a pro fighter which is something most of the toughest men alive are not able to do... not to mention what he has done for the sport, and how he helped it grow.. Plus he has had other successes along the way... To say he is the worlds most dangerous man is both accurate, and an understatement considering all the hardships and success that he has more than earned and endured...

I've always been a fan of Ken Shamrock not just for his fighting abilities but because he has always been sincere and devoid of bullsh!t, and drama. Not sure if in some way he adopted this bushido kind of code while training in Japan. He appreciates his wins and makes no excuses about his losses and it's good to hear that he still stays in touch with his former rivals like Royce. Ken Shamrock could have had a lot more "W's" but was unfortunately never 100% and was already mature compared to other fighters in their prime when MMA really started to take off after Y2K. Many people don't realize that his knee was so bad that he could not shoot properly for a dominant position which greatly affected his ability to use his shooto catch wrestling style. But the man still managed to hold his own.

I remember being about 12 or 13 years old watching UFC one... And Ken is not kidding, you literally had to go to the adult section to get it... We went there and we tried to go in there to get it but we had to leave and then my Dad or Mom went in and got it for us. Lol. We had to explain to them that it was just fighting. Lol That was almost the coolest night ever. We had WWE and then we had this that came out and we were just like wow. Lol. So cool. Miss you Ken.

Ken Shamrock has always been one of my favorite fighter's. I'm from MACON, GEORGIA like Ken. And i can say as a white boy in a predominantly black neighborhood it was extremely hard upbringing and still to this day it has not changed.

His first major fight was the rough and tumble in redding ca that he won. We both attended shasta college around "87". The first time i met him was in the weight room. I was a good athlete and had some big guns like him. We had a stare down and i looked away, good decision on my part. At 5'7" i could dunk a basketball, one day we were playing basketball and he stood under the rim and leaped up and grabbed onto it. I was not expecting that from a big guy wearing a knee brace from an injury. He has fast twitch muscle mass (power).
