Ken Honda: The Japanese Art of Being a Zen Millionaire | Afford Anything Podcast (Audio-Only)
Most people have dysfunctional ideas about money stemming from childhood and society.
If your parents said, “I’m not sending you to soccer camp. You don’t practice enough during the off-season, so it’s a waste of money,” the message that you might have heard is, “I’m not worthy.”
If your parents complained about the expense of child raising, you might think, “I’m a waste of money” or “I’m an obstacle.”
These ideas stick with us in adulthood. We’re afraid to ask for a raise or promotion, because we still think we’re not worthy. We’re afraid to start our own business or speak up for our needs within a relationship, because we still think we’re an obstacle.
We soothe ourselves by projecting negative emotions onto money itself.
We think money corrupts, money is evil, money is greed. We think people who have money are “sharks” or that they acquired it through corrupt, diabolical or nefarious means. We think that transactions are win-lose, and that life is a zero-sum game; your own riches are built on the backs of the poor. We think that wealth requires taking advantage of others.
None of these ideas are true, and clinging to these beliefs is limiting and unhealthy.
Ken Honda, author of Happy Money, joins me on the podcast to discuss these concepts.

Well said! I am also here to learn how to invest after listening to a lady on tv talk about the importance of investing and how she made 7 figures in 3 months, somehow the video taught me nothing and left me even more confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas on how to invest for retirement

Taking early notes from Warren as to the importance of sound asset diversification and risk management It can’t be overstated. I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio of $300K for sometime now, I would greatly appreciate any other suggestions.

Very true. Despite having no prior investing knowledge, I started investing before the pandemic and pulled in a profit of approximately $950k that same year. In reality, all I was doing was getting professional advice

The adviser I'm in touch with is Stephanie Kopp Meeks’’’ She was interviewed on CNBC Television. You can use something else, for me her strategy works hence my result. She provides entry and exit point for the securities I focus on.
1. Receive well 2. Appreciate money 3. Trust 4. Share These lessons are so out of the box and rare, valuable, one could see a lifetime with out these Gems, so thankful I received.
This is the best conducted interview with Ken Honda that I have heard by now. Thank you to both of you.
Now I realized that I’m addicted feeding guilty, so I feel that I’m not a bad person. Thank you for the enlightenment, Ken👍 And turning paying bills for gratitude, then I’ll call it heaven on earth 🌎 ❤️
This is a great interview. She had done her homework and read the book. I am grateful that I came across this channel.
This woman is asking the best questions. Whether she is just reading a script or she is really so tuned in I don't care. She should be in the main stream media. Then I would watch tv again.
This is a really good interview. The interviewer has amazingly good and clear voice. The gold nugget is she ask great Questions!

Enjoyed this! Greatness.
best one among the videos&podcasts with K.H. I am listening to in these day, the best conducted one - thanks to the excellent interviewer - the way she guides the talk, the way she never loses the main thread, keeping it down-to-earth and practical for who is listening, the way she never overtalks as many other annoying hosts on YouT do - and the final, unexpected and unusual synthesis she draws of the main points. thank you
Thank you so much for a great podcast also thanks to ken for sharing his learnings. Your voice is awesome and the quality of the audio from your end is fantastic. 🙏😊❤️

Excellent interview! You really created a synergy with Ken and brought out not just his ideas, but his personal side which is key for someone whose ideas revolve around money EQ. I also like how you do a recap at the end to reinforce his points and even elaborate on them a little. Thanks!
Paula, your questions are so insightful and are often exactly the tough, practical aspect of where I'm curious and/or stuck. Thank you, your media is a gift 💗

Adarsh Balachandran every chapter is basically what you need to do the next day. The book is very well layed out. If you need to correct your belief system then i would say the secret is better but Magic is more into the application of those fundamentals.
Thank you for this!!
Thank you Paula for this brilliant podcast. You have such great questions with such confidence. That make this video so "learnfull". This shows how clever you are ! Thank you very much indeed. 👂👍👏🙏

Excellent interview 👌. The summary and key takeouts at the end is brilliant. 'ARIGATO' to you for sharing and conducting a great interview 🙏🏼.
Awesome interview! Grateful* Thank You & Arigato to you both!
A lot of my “wallet poor, material rich” friends think this way too 🤔 just because I can “afford anything” they think I’m a tyrant or greedy with money or my business.

Great interview ♥️, ARIGATO for sharing Ken Honda’s teachings. I have been following him since I attended one of his Mindvalley Masterclasses. I would love to do his course... but meanwhile I seek to hear the same information through different moments and speakers intervention so I get all the juice from it ☺️🧘🏻♀️✨🙏🏻
Good interview. 👌 Thanks. 🙏 Refreshing and instructive, because most interviews with Ken always get the same answers. And the summary at the end is very good! 👍

The resistance is within you!! So true!! 🧠💥 really great interviewer by the way.
Thank you so much I had quite a few AHA moments on money issues, which is exactly what's been happening to me. Going forward healing is mindset and of course gratitude and thanking money is great advice, I thought by giving and donating more will help but I'm still broke most of the time, it ran so much deeper than that, listening to this interview was an eye opener. I would love to read some of his books, where can I get a copy of his books?
I love the video👏👏👏
Excellent
Ken Honda ❤❤❤❤

While listening to Ken's explanation working on something else online, I had to stop doing what I was doing at least few times to come back here to hit the skip button for google adds, then I realized it was the host speaking/asking a question.
