So glad that they are airing these Gunsmoke episodes on MeTV now. It was on too late for me to watch as a kid, but I really enjoy the show now, and see why it was a favorite of my dad.

Thank you for offering up this portion of Festus! Years ago my brother went to Mexico and I told him I wanted a pair of spurs that jangled like Festus Hagin's. Well, he brought me back of brass spurs that I wore with gold chains holding them around my ankles, high-heel shoes and blue jeans. They jangle just fine to this day! (and that was in the mid-70's)

This was when TV was fun to watch. No profanity, nudity, just a great show to watch. Its not why can’t they make programs like this anymore, they just don’t want to,because it don’t fit their narrative. What a Shame.

There were episodes where Chester showed remarkable heroic resolve such as the episode called. ex urbanites that featured Ken Curtis as part of a duo who caused problems for Doc and Chester. Chester ended up removing a Bullitt from Doc and saving his life by providing liquid protein nourishment to sustain Doc after the Bullitt was removed. Chester had to shoot Doc's horse to provide that.

There is an online site dedicated to Ken where they've published a final farewell to his family, friends, and fans. It is very touching and made me cry. Something tells me that Mr. Curtis was definitely touched by an angel with his talent and his big heart 😇
